So how do I stop biting my nails?

I've had this nasty habit for as long as I can remember. I've never really given a real effort to stop.

I just looked at my hands and realized that it looks pretty bad

How the hell do I stop?

Are your fingers bloody stumps?? I've seen that over the years and never seen anybody stop that nasty chit..must be a self punishing tick or a symptom of some deep rooted psych.crack. When do you do it most? In front of people or by your self?? Give Dr.Laura a call mabe she can give you a few bites of wisdom..let us know when your going to call so we all can listen to ya on the transistor radio...mabe dip yer fingers in Tobasco??

my friend got these clear braces (they are removable, mouth piece looking things) - you cant even tell he's wearing em..anyway he can't eat with them, so he quit biting his nails..not sure that this helps you though

I used to bite/pick my nails so badly that I didn't even have nails. :Q I wanted to quit for a long time and I tried everything...nasty tasting stuff, band-aids, ect. Nothing worked. If I didn't bite them, I would pick at them instead. One year, lent came around and I decided that I would give up biting my nails for lent. I prayed, "Jesus, I want to stop biting my nails for you." So, for the next month, every time I wanted to bite/pick at my nails, I prayed instead. It was really tough for the first week because it was so automatic. Eventually, by the grace of God, I stopped!! I had destroyed my fingernails for the past 10 years of my life, and God allowed me to quit.

Wear nail polish...clear ones..unless you're one of those dudes who likes wearing colored nail polish.

Nail polish tastes disgusting..and it will certainly get you to stop biting your nails.

Oh..and clear ones make them look all shiny and stuff..so you'll look nice to boot.
