The disc is not in fact dirty or damaged, i never took it out of the Xbox, it just quit working one day. Xbox problems?

Sounds like a problem with your XBox. A lot of older models from what Ive read are having problems. It has to do with the DVD drive that was used in the models.

The original XBoxes used Thompson drives and they are the ones having problems. Its kind of got me worried cause I have a 2001 launch XBox.

Leave your XBox unplugged for awhile and try it again later. If not you may have to call Microsoft and get a replacement. If its not under warrenty you will have to pay to get it fixed. Its around $100 or so I believe.

This has got to be the nerdliest thread ever. "Normal" people discuss their PR for the 5K and you guys are discussing video game sports in essentially the same light. Do you wear workout clothes when you fire up Madden too?

Go outside people. It's fun. Really.

But then you have to, like, talk to people. In real life.

That is part of the reason I don't like sports.

what is?[/quote]Because many worship a team or players like they do a deity. Most interest in mainstream sports is, like religion, based upon what you were taught as a child. People don't turn 30 and decide one day they're going to start loving football. Contrast that with other sports like cycling, mountain climbing, etc. - those are sports that people can develop an interest in later in life based upon their own interests - not those instilled into them by their father or peers at a younger age.

I've seen grown men scream at a television because the team they have no personal REAL interest in has just been slighted by another equally distant team to them, as if any of it really matters. Many just pick a team and decide "Hey I'll start rooting for this team." Can you say it really matters if whichever team you supposedly care for does well or not? Really it's quite mind boggling to me, and undoubtedly a lot of interest in sports comes from wanting to feel comradary with other males. If you have an interest in a team or sport you can become part of a group. It all seems a wee bit forced to me.

holy skoorbism...

first of all why can't people start to develop interest in mainstream sports later in life? Many people start taking up tennis and then get interested in professional tennis. It isn't a short leap to say many people start to get interested in baseball because they joined a baseball league.

Of course is doesn't truly matter if a team does well or not, but it's something you have invested emotions in. Just like if Nissan does well I bet you splooge. But does it really MATTER if they do well?

maybe because it is entertaining to watch sports? maybe they grew up in their favorite team's city and that's why they like them? tell us, what are some things you're interested in, maybe we can mock and belittle them...

PR for the 5K?

Hey, I love being outside. If I could, I'd stay outside all day. I love playing sports, but I can't, so I do the next best thing.
