Places like Schucks will usually recycle it for free. I just store it up until I have a few gallons and take it there.

lol!! Actually, I think they're decent if you just change your oil every 3k like my dad does. He's used Fram for 20 years. I prefer to play it safe. 7000 rpm and poorly filtered oil don't mix in my book.

Fram? FRAM? WTF? Why don't you just go ahead and throw a pound or two of sand in your engine while you are at it. Cheap oil....eh..I can live with that as long as you change the oil every 2k or 3k miles...but Fram? Jeebus.

fram has several different filters.

Arguably with a 3k oil change interval even the cheapest things across the board are overkill.

If one was using a 7500-10000 mile change interval I'd be more concerned.

Fram x2 filters are very good. STP and Bosch oil filters are now constructed poorly. Go for Mobil 1, Amsoil, K&N, and the aforementioned Fram x2 (ONLY THE x2).

NEVER use fram. Had to many problems with them failing or leaking etc....

There are to many good filters out there to warrent having to use a Fram. Heck your dirty underwear could probable do a better job

k now I can see leaking, but then I'd wonder about installation (the higher end Frams I use have a nice gasket).....

Well, good thing I find out about STP now. No wonder they were so cheap the last time I bought them. Time to go back to Honda OEM (Japanese made).

What failures have you had?

Had the media collapse and cause it to back pressure out, had some just blow off after failing. This was on different cars and trucks, jap. and american, etc...

If it was a really cheap filter, MAYBE. But if cost more then better filters, so why waster your money, and maybe car and time.
