So I beat STALKER

Definitely one of the best games of all time. No matter WHAT ending you get your jaw will drop. When I first did it, I quicksaved before the Wish Granter and talked to him and it said "I want the Zone to disappear." Not quite what I was expecting to happen happened. Then I did the Secret Lab path and teleported a bajillion times (although it was a cool puzzle element) and yeah I got that cool, but very unexplanatory ending. What happens after he falls asleep?

GFY. I hated that teleporting sequence, and kind of blew through it cause I had work to do, but had to finish it.

Yeah, I liked the multiple endings and ways of finishing it. I can't wait for the alleged extra content patch.

I can't wait for a sequel.
It seems so... unfulfilled. Even though (in the good, teleport ending) you make everything better blah blah blah, something feels... empty. Empty enough for an even better sequel.

The game is awesome but it has it's ups and downs. I like it because it feels like that game Oblivion in a way. Although Oblivion is clearly a massive RPG, this is pretty much a combination of several genres. I got mods for this game to make the game feel more "realistic". I got some armor suits that are 500,000 dollars and stuff; the game is highly modified . I love the game and I had that ending to unfortunately. Although I teleported to a grassy plan than I see that he had his eyes closed the entire time. When he opened his eyes, he was blind; he had pure white eyes. It's kind of sad to see that the zone is gone and you can't even see the wish you just got granted?

It kinda reminded me of The Seven Deadly Sins with some of the endings, like the greedy, I want to be rich ending. Sorry sucker lol...

the zone didn't disappear, he merely went blind so that in his perspective it 'disappeared'. all the wishgranters endings are negative.

I did love the last part though it was full of action and when I got to the end it was like coming out of a roller coaster.

the zone isn't gone

it just "disappeared" for [only] the Marked One

you got one of the 5 "false" wish granter endings

reload just before it and keep going ... down

"agree" for a short "true ending" OR ... reload, "refuse" and play a few more hours to get the "real" [most satisfactory] ending

and of course ... it leaves itself "wide open" for an Expansion with even that ending

at first ...

it was pretty hard unpatched ... the patch made it easier for me at a harder level than without it on an easier one

I dunno guys, I waited about 4 days to be "drawn in". Each day was more painful and irritating than the last. Although maybe it doesnt count as 4 days since I played a little less each time.
Whats worse is I cant sell it. Heck, I'm not even sure I could give this game away.

too bad ... STALKER tied with 'riddick' as my favorite FPS of all time
--even though it is really RPG ... like DE

i am even enjoying it the second time thru - which is a *never before* for me

Count me as one of this games biggest fans. I am a true FPS addict and have never liked RPG style games but S.T.A.L.K.E.R. seems to blend the best of both genres. Even with the occasional glitches and cut content, this game is a marvel to behold. A true living, breathing environment that never plays the same way twice and has me wanting to continue exploring even after "all" the endings. I think what makes it so creepy is the fact that Chernobyl is real and the story behind what happened as well as what is still happening there is just too tragic and eeirie. Sorry for my very uncharacteristic rant but I encourage any true gamer out there to give this game some time. Some have said the graphics are dated but I say they are phenomenal. Some say the story is boring but I say it's engrossing.

FYI, the game is also loosely based on an old Russian sci-fi novel called "Roadside Picnic". In that tale it was an alien landing that made the zone dangerous and full of anomalies. Then there was the Russian film "Stalker" which was based on the book and has been hailed as the Soviet version of 2001: A Space Odyssey. The developers of "Shadow of Chernobyl" have mastefully crafted a game that blends the book, movie and what happened in 1986 into a truly chilling storyline that almost seems plausible.

I could't get over how long the first mission took and hte controls sucked. I gave up on it. Fealt way to much like 1997 technology.

The 5 "false" endings are supposed to suck. One of the "true" endings seemed like a real bummer to me as well. The "I made it" ending wasn't exactly a toe-tapper either but it did leave things wide open for an expansion pack or something.

Haven't finished the game yet, so I just skimmed posts trying to avoid Spoilers. I agree though, this game just keeps getting better and ranks up near the top of all time best FPSs.

I find myself getting creeped out a lot and actually aborting certain things I wanted to do. After completing the 2 Lab Missions in Dark Valley and Yantar I decided to go back to look for any missed goodies. I aborted each attempt rather soon though as the increased/improved Baddies at each just didn't seem to make the effort worth it. Those Mind Control(or whatever) Zombies are the creepiest of them all. Even though they seem more harmless than anything else, almost tempted to keep one alive just to see what eventually happens.

Fear had some good scares here and there, but I find myself more on edge with Stalker and being shocked unexpectedly where I thought had been long pacified. Even going back to Cordon is different and more difficult. Excellent atmosphere that just keeps getting darker and more hopeless.

Stalker is GOTY material for sure!
