Haha, I did that. I was playing at my friends house, the Wii mote slipped out of my hand (The material sucks!!!) And the strap ( The replaced one mind you) broke. The Wii mote flew that the Tv, but dropped enough so it hit the bottom, and tore off the plastic button cover thing.

My feelings exactly, but that doesn't stop me from making damn sure I have any guests use the strap - not entirely the OP's fault if his friend didn't make sure he was using the strap.

The material is irrelevant. It's not going to leave your hand unless you're a retard and you let go of it.

So the other day, a bunch of us are playing Wii Sports (my first time), when all of the sudden, the wii-mote slips out of my hand, and smashes into my friend's 61" rear-projection TV. Internals look fine, but there is a huge crack on the lower left corner of the screen. I feel like an idiot cuz I should have used the strap, but sh!t happens I suppose.

Anyone have ideas on how much it would cost to fix?

You owe him a new TV. You didn't put on the strap, what did you expect would happen?

if the wii remote leaves your hand during play you forgot to wipe the lotion off after looking at your pron. Nintendo claims no liability in your actions

should be included with all remotes

I constantly have to remind my 8 year old to back off from my 61 inch DLP when he plays Bowling.

He actually takes 3-4 running steps towards the tv as he swings his arms upward, he sometimes misses the tv screen by inches on the upswing.

I may have to draw a imaginary foul line on the rug to prevent this impending accident.

by the way use the strap, it does not make you less of a man if use it.

This is why I always make people wear the strap when they are playing, no matter what the game. And yes, I have the reinforced straps that they sent out after the whole strap breaking thing.

Home owners insurance should only be used for big claims, I had a friend who had 2 or maybe 3 claims in 1-2 years and was dropped by his insurance company. Tree fell on roof, another tree fell on his tractor.

This is apparently common pratice among home insurers, the magic number might be 3 claims then they drop you.

FYI home insurance should pay for it then again they might turn around and drop you might no be worth it if the claim is small and he has a $500 deductable anyway.
