sounds like text messaging really screwed things up here. an actual phone call to go out in the beginning (instead of texting) would have done wonders.

I have a very difficult major and work very hard, I don't have time for cancellations last minute.

Chill a bit.

People are busy. Things do come up.

exactly.

when was the last time you saw or hung out with these guys? did they know you got married? did you invite them? soemthing had to happen to make them act this way and i highly doubt the reason is because you got married.

have you not talked to them in years or what?

It's funny -- virtually all men are completely oblivious to how much they change when they enter a new relationship. You act differently, you have (much) less time for your existing friends, you tend to want to involve your (unwelcomed) girlfriend in hangouts/event, etc.

People change. You've chosen the standard marriage route. You have to adopt new friends that understand and can relate to your daily issues.

We used to hang out most weekends and were close friends, but ever since I got hitched, I never hear anything from then. It's also not from lack of trying on my part, I constantly text message them asking if they want to hang out somewhere. Usually they just don't reply.

What has really got me down however is that I sent them a text yesterday to let them know my wife is pregnant, and even then I got nothing. Not even a simple "congrats"!

I actually feel betrayed. It makes me wonder if they were ever really good friends at all

I've best friends with them since I was 13. (27 now)

Anyone else experience this?

****update below****

Just a quick update for anyone who read this thread previously. So here's a reply I got from one of my friends (a week later)

"Classy way to announce the news, puke face. Congrats! So pleased 2 kno that another refuse pile like u will be populating the planet. Sorry got to go. Need to find out a way to dump my b1tch of a girlfriend as she's fukd in the head. At least I've still got my friends to cheer me up"

So I called him but just get his voicemail. F*** him. That's it.

Sounds like you grew up. They clearly didn't.

Time to find some new friends because those guys are idiots.

I'm not hiding anything. I never bothered to tell the full story because it's pretty mundane. I met my wife at work 2.5 years ago, we dated for six months, got engaged, got married 1.5 years ago. My two friends in question met her a few times but as I've said previously I enjoyed having boys nights out, and usually didn't bring her along.

Regarding him joking....nope. I've known him long enough, that's a type of mood he can get in at times. That text took me by surprise though, because he's never spoken to me like that. So yeah, obviously he's p1ssed off about something, but I honestly don't know what.

I just tried to call my other friend and he's not answering...but he's probably sleeping at the moment. I asked him in voicemail what the f*** is up? I think i'd rather speak to him at the moment as at least he's not sending abusive texts.

this thread seems very one sided, i cant see how a friend of over 10 years would just flip a bit like that.
