I actually feel a little left out that neither of my 360s have ever given me a problem. I have a zephyr I bought in 2007 and a Jasper I bought 5 months ago that are both still running strong (I gave the Zephyr to my nephew when I bought the Jasper, and told him to let me know if it ever fails, and he's yet to say anything.)

I guess my point is that Dari is like the Glenn Beck of PS3 fanboys.

I'm not the only person saying that the XBOX 360 is crap and MS should not be compensated for making shitty hardware. Others have said the exact same thing in this thread. And, for all we know, you could be lying.

are you fourteen or do you just have a short memory?

sony has been shitting on their customers for so many years it's not even funny. yeah, MS's foray into consoles has been pretty much been the death of real gaming, but it isn't like sony's swept in like fucking robin hood.

feel free to say the 360 sucks ass, just don't try and play sony off as the angel, or no one is going to do anything but call you a fanboy troll.

I don't like Sony, but the PS3 is less restrictive and a better value (in terms of hardware, and getting better in the software dept) than the X360.

Yet, I still have a X360 because I play games on LIVE with friends. My gaming time is getting more and more limited though... will probably go to near nothing on weekends once ski season starts

I dunno, I still support MS since my 360 hasn't conked out yet *knocks on wood* and all my friends are on it. Some of them have RRoD'd before but they've gotten them fixed or replaced. I think it actually says a lot that even though their console has shitted on them before, they still go back instead of switching. It means even a faulty product like the 360 is better than a PS3 or a Wii in their eyes.

+1 on Sony's shitty technical support.

I had a few PSXs and I think even a PS2 die on me and they didn't really do shit about either. I ended up buying new units of both.

Yeah my biggest problem with you isn't that you hate MS...that is understandable. My problem is that you are a total drooling Sony fanboy.

You forget about the PS2 problems they never extended their warranty for? I am on my 4th...all 3 of the others had the drive fail. It was a widespread problem and when confronted with it you basically just say you lie...it never happened to me so it doesn't exist.

Not to mention Sony PS3 does have a problem with the Yellow light of death. It isn't as prevalent as the RROD by far but if you think it is a minor issue, go look at the Playstation forum some time. The difference is that Sony is charging 150 dollars to fix it.

I love my PS3 but if you think that Sony is any better as a company you have a freakin short memory dude.

lol. Who said I hate Microsoft? I love them. I love their softwares. I also like SONY but I'm no fanboy. I just hate the unreliability of the XBOX 360 hardware and I think MS should be punished for that. I have never experiences the PS2 or PS3 problems that you mentioned but I would be on SONY if they still had the same problem YEARS LATER...

This mirrors how I feel. I was behind the 360 from day one and had no intention of getting on the PS3 bandwagon. But after seeing the parade of hardware crap MS kept pushing out and regurgitating bound-to-break units through their warranty program, I jumped off the 360 bandwagon. I got tired of being stuck in the endless circle of RROD systems. This is not good customer service to me. So what if they do it free of charge? They are just pushing another garbage unit on you.

Because at least i didn't have to go buy a whole new system 3 times like I did with Sony or pay 150 dollars to get my PS3 fixed like everyone that gets that is having to do.

again- what one company does, does not excuse another.

imo we need an electronics 'lemon law.' MS should've been forced to replace all the defective units with the new designs (assuming they're actually more reliable) or give people their money back.

not to mention that is seems like everytime sony has a new firmware update it bricks a ton of PS3's......

atleast MS keeps extending warranty's.

you cant sue them when they keep replacing the failed product, if they told you to STFU and get out, then you could sue them.

THey doing alot more to do right by the customers than most company's will

I just got my RROD box back. Its a different box with a new serial #. I noticed on the back, instead of manufacturing date, it now says serviced date 10/25/2009. Also the box reached them on Monday 11/9/2009 and repair was completed and tracking # generated on same day. Although, the box didnt actually shipped till 11/11/09...

A different serial? Interesting. I recently got mine back and it had the same serial, but the sticker is now one of the service stickers you mentioned. But I'm fairly certain this is a different machine.

First off, it's not as loud, though I suppose they could have replaced the fans. Second, the MAC address is different. And, third, the replacement shipped the same day they said they received my dead unit. I should have marked my old machine in some inconspicuous way.

That's really nothing new. They've been replacing broken machines with different machines since the beginning. It makes the turn-around times faster.

Since you keep your HDD/memory card with you it doesn't really matter if you get the machine you sent in or not. Though, that does make me wonder how they are servicing the Jaspers with the built-in memory card...

Yeah, I knew it was to be expected, I was just surprised when it had the same serial number. Whereas in the case of the person to which I was replying he got a different unit with a different serial. I'm just curious what sort of tracking and record keeping they have in place. Seems like things could get complicated once you start swapping out serial numbers.

mine rrod only because i left it on while on a 10 day vacation. No issues with my replacement unit.

Leaving a unit on for 10 days isn't an excuse for it to red ring. People leave computers on, clocks, and countless other items for long durations without failure, nor would you expect them to fail.
