Earlier today, during the lunch period, a few friends and I were throwing snowballs around because we were bored. We were simply tossing them at other people; who were, in turn, laughing and throwing them back. By the end everyone walked away in perfect condition.

Later, I get called to the office for throwing snowballs. Apparently snowballs are now considered "weapons," as my VP put it. I don't really understand the reasoning to make this action punishable. Throwing snow is no more dangerous than playing sports, yet those are perfectly allowed.

The end resulted in me getting a 1-day suspension for what I did. I don't really mind because it just gives me a long week-end. I just think it's rediculous that this kind of thing can be punishble.

EDIT : Figure I should mention that I've never been suspended before and my record, until now, was perfectly clean.

Cliffs :

1. Threw snow in a non-malicious way
2. Got suspended for 1 day
3. ??
4. Profit! (Long week-end)

Feel free to flame me if you want, doesn't really bother me.
Which school?

Let that be a lesson to you! It's all fun and games until someone loses an eye.

He really should have suspended you for a week. That's assault you know! You can't be too careful after Columbine.

You should spend more time studying and less time attacking your classmates...maybe then you'd know how to spell ridiculous.

God forbid someone makes a typo. I thought this was the Internet; I must be wrong.

Typo? The E key is nowhere near the I key...you don't even use the same hand to type those two letters. Face it, you don't know how to spell do you?

You=PWN3D

Didn't mean typo in that sense. It wasn't a "slip of the finger," more like a mental lapse. I know perfectly well how to spell ridiculous yet I hadn't given it a thought and made an error. Please forgive me, oh perfect one.

Quit whining, now you have a story to tell. Oh damn, you get to stay home from school for a day.

These principals should be dragged into the street and showered with tar and feathers.

I'd have told the Principal to fvck off. My Senior Year I was tardy to First Period about 40 something times. The VP wanted to give me 12 weekends of detention for the second semester. I asked him to pull up my grades, and he saw I had all A's. I asked him what harm I was doing by being late? He said it was a distraction to the other students, and that rules are rules. I basically told him it wasn't my fault they were dumbasses and walked out. Never suspended, never did the detention, and he sure as hell never bothered me again.

I simply cannot stand any authority figure that says something like "rules are rules." I will purposely break them if you are that much of a jackass.

I remember causing a mini royal rumble in the school cafeteria. :Q

I snapped one day and kicked the crap out of this guy. His friends came over to avenge him and each one went flying over a table. Then a floor monitor got involved and he went flying over a table. A teacher and some members of the football team seperated me from the other guy. He was barely conscious.

I didn't get suspended, but I was threatened with it. Only 3 days left of school before summer vacation so I didn't give a damn.

If you're going to get suspended do it right and throw rocks packed in snow. Then, you shall be worthy of a suspension!

Be careful, don't build any snowmen in front of any buildings. It is worse than burning a cross!

As for your unblemished "record", I'm not sure what record you're referring to. The one kept by the high school? No one will ever know (or care) once you leave that school. It's okay.

Damn, I sure hope you're right. I just applied to college and one of them asked me if I'd ever gotten in serious trouble at any school I attended. I was afraid if I didn't tell them they'd just look it up and think me a liar... so I told them about how I got suspended for a week for drinking whiskey in the middle of class. Wait, in that case it doesn't matter if you're right because I already told them. Dammit.

Rofl... Btw.

My friend got suspended for pushing a person (even though the person didn't fall), after my friend got socked in the face by him.

lol, last year when I was in high school the principal got on the PA and said snowball fights would be allowed outside, a change from the rule that had been there for as long as I could remeber. He was a cool guy. No damage done.

You can probably blind someone if there was an ice shard in the snowball or something. Getting suspended though, is ridiculous
