If you only need 2400 caloriesto maintain your weight at 225, you have very little lean muscle mass, or you are very sedentary. Probably both.

I said that is without exercise. And while I'm not sedentary, no, I'm not an athlete or even moderately in shape. That's the point.

The rest of your 'tips' are basically a regurgitation of SC's fat loss sticky thread, except not as informative.

I haven't read his thread lately. If some of my tips are there, that's because they are solid and work. If you ask him where he got his information, I bet he'll say he isn't the originator, either. There's nothing new when it comes to diet and exercise - not for what works. Repetition of truth never hurt anyone. And if you don't find what I said to be as informative, that's fine. I'm not a health expert and didn't claim to be. I can post medial studies to support what I posted, but it wasn't meant to be a paper. If you can contribute more than me, good for you and good for everyone here. I don't get what argument you have against what I said. That my post wasn't longer? That it is too anecdotal? That I'm not eloquent? It was a post made quickly in the morning after a long night of work... never mind, I really don't need to justify myself here.

Also, threatening to make fun of somebody if they fail is ridiculous. It is not a good way to motivate somebody. Who are you to make fun of him anyway? Just another random fatass hiding behind a computer screen.
If you missed my humor, I'm genuinely sorry. I like amdhunter, and he knows I'm joking. He's on my "Friends" list here. The guy gave me a Nintendo DS, there's no way I could dislike him And about me being fat... duh, this is Health and Fitness, and I told you I am overweight. Not everyone here is a bodybuilder or triathlete. I'm making an attempt to get healthy, and I bet I succeed. If you want to hate for some reason I don't understand, that's your option. It doesn't bother me.

If you have access to a sauna don't pass up the chance to use it. 30 or so minutes is good, anything longer gets pretty tough.

Fighters use them to make weight, so can you!

I do have access to one, but I have an unusual problem.

I swear I am not trolling...but I think there are some extracurricular activities going on in there between some gym members.

I wanted to try it for a bit, but I am extremely afraid of what waits in there. I won't let any of my bare skin touch anything in the locker rooms, so imagine in a sauna.

I've already dealt with 1 guy being very friendly towards me my first week there. It almost made me want to quit going.

I

AMDHunter, how's your weight loss journey going?

222lbs.

I am almost eating normalish. No longer skipping meals, but keeping portions reasonable. I made a habit of eating breakfast for the first time in my life.

Gonna hit the gym again today. I skipped Monday, so making up for lost time. I want to go at least 4x a week.

As per the bold - I'm meeting the girl that works at my gym down in Las Vegas tonight.

Everyone is fucking everyone at the gym. Seriously.

But stop looking for excuses.

The sauna is men only.

I am not a homophobe...well maybe just a little. I am too much of a nice guy to tell anyone to ah heck off. I think he got the hint after the 5th time I said, I do not want to go in the sauna.

I spend as little time in the locker rooms as possible now.

Thanks. It's still probably not close to 2000 calories, but it's much healthier. I am trying my best to learn the right ways.

For example, I was exercising to wipe myself out, instead of maintaining a steady heartbeat - this is probably why I tire myself out so fast. I might invest in a heart monitor and try running in the street again - this time sustaining my heart rate, not pushing it to deadly levels.

the slower you lose the weight the more likely you'll keep it off. i've routinely gained and lost 30 lbs in a year. i'm 185 probably right now, i can't get lower than 155 unless I try very hard, and I don't want to. all i did was run a mile a day and drink water, instead of pop. you will lose a couple lbs a week doing that. it doesnt hurt to lift weights for 20-30 minutes a day too.
