So I inherited a cable descrambler

First off, I live in South Jersey, and I just got a cable descrambler.

Up til about a year ago, our cable from Comcast has ~8 channels which were scrambled, well now those channels which used to be scrambled are now just blank channels, meaning they have snow on them. For those of you who didn't already catch it, I'm talking about analog TV not digital. Anyway.. so it sucks I just got this descrambler and no channels to descramble with it.. any ideas? Should I just throw it away or is there anything fun I can do with it.

Now that the porno channel is not just a scrambled channel, this thing seems useless.

Damn the digital revolution!

Ok so it has come to my attention that there may be a Filter blocking my use of the descrambler.. can someone tell me what this filter looks like or even better a picture of it? Because I do have access to the main box outside to mess around. Thanks

Would a Filter turn a scrambled channel into a channel filled with just snow?

It is possible to "descramble" digital though.. just much, much, much... much harder. Takes a little more than the standard tunable notch filter that was used back in the day...

No, sell it on ebay. The descarmbler you have will work, but not in your area of the country. You need the right type to view scrambled TV on your network.
