It was fun. I was having trouble making left turns. Also was going to fast a few times. I have the need for speed.

First time driving was great, I actually never outgrew driving like most people do, I still love to drive.

I went too slow the first time I drove. What was your trouble with left turns? Too wide or too short?!

Oh, and get used to hearing everyone say they'll stay off the roads when you're driving, parents, friends, lots of people. I got my license about a month and a half ago and when I was getting it I heard people say they'll stay off the roads a lot trying to be funny.

Braking just in time for the stop light was hard. I either brake too early or too late. As for turning, my instructor just told me to feel the wheel out and not count how much of the wheel is turn? is he correct.

My dad took me to a graveyard for my first driving lesson. It was actually a good place to learn.

and payign attention to all the mirrors and what going on about you is tough. I cant imagine how ppl can multitask and still be able to pay attention to whats going on around the car.

Driving requires practice. Thats all you need. Just drive as often as you can, you get the feel for the cars, roads, how traffic acts, situations, etc etc, and eventually, you'll be driving much more confidently.

You'll get used to it. When I'm a P.O. I'll have to do all that, plus use the radar, type on the laptop, use radio communications, look for crime, control the spotlight, and use the lights & siren when necessary.

My problem was right turns my first time. I had no clue how wide the driver's ed car was

That and I almost hit a car on a turn going down a one lane street (two ways mind you, just one lane, Sides are either in a lake, or into somebody's fence)

yeah I had a harder time with right turns too because there's "more car" over on that side.

You should brake early if anything, much safer than braking late. If your instructor has a problem with you braking early ask him if he should brake late because you're still learning to drive and don't know the brakes well yet since you're new to the car and driving.

My dad took me in 911 turbo out to the business park late at night and had me doing donuts inside of 30 min. I kissed 145 that night on one of the longer stretches and had to evade police before things were all said and done. I love my daddy!

Driving instructors like it when you lay a patch. Just slip it into neutral, rev to about 3000rpm and dump it into D at the red light.

I remember my first time, it was dark, I was feeling around quite a bit, was very unsure of myself, and I was done before I knew it! Oh wait, you mean driving......

Yep. I couldn't tell you I far I turn the wheel in any car to make any given turn. Look where you want to be going, not at where you are. Don't look at the wheel, don't think about it. Just look at the road.

Same thing with the brakes; just feel it out. Oh, and remember, stopping distance increases approximately proportional to your speed squared, which is to say, every time you double the speed, stopping distance increases approximately 4 times. Therefore, you need to think about braking a lot earlier when you're going 40 MPH as opposed to 25 MPH.
