"Hello, this is ___ with the Seattle Police Department"
"Yeah?"
"I was just calling to confirm you got notified that your car was recovered"
"..."
An hour later, me and a friend were speeding up to Lincoln Towing (open 24 hours, apparently) to check it out. Sure enough, there was my Toyota MR2...the one that was stolen late July last year...with NO apparent damage! The ignition seemed a little funny, and the battery was stone dead, but the body, interior, and so on seemed to have no new scratches or other damage. I guess I'm probably going to have to change the ignition and locks, but that's a small price to pay for getting your car back! Well, and they took the faceplace to my CD player, making it useless, but I could use an MP3 headunit anyway.
The car was a bit on the dirty side when I got it, but it cleaned up really well
The interior was new-looking as ever after a good vacuuming, so I guess they didn't smoke in it or anything lame like that.
Needless to say, I am one happy panda right now.
It's parked at a friend's LOCKED garage, and now the real work begins...I've got to transfer my insurance, sell the old car, update the registration, and perform a bunch of maintenance stuff on the car like changing the pads, resurfacing the rotors, changing the oil, flushing the coolant, and so on. Should keep me busy for a while...too bad the nice weather is going away next week.
Anyone want to buy a 1990 VW Golf for ~$1500?
