Yeah when people jump on the bandwagon it will get clogged. Just got 4g coverage at my school and while I'm able to watch HD netflix now, it wont be long before it slows to a crawl.

You'll be fine as long as you don't have to travel away from the greater Bay area. Sometimes the hills can mess you up, however.

It will slow down just like verizon did enjoy it now while it lasts

Verizon didn't really slow down that much. Even with a spec of LTE signal, its still 5x faster than CDMA 3G too. Thats the kicker, even 'bogged down' with weak signal, its still better than their 3G.

I can still get 40/20 to this day on Verizon in Atlanta.

Your in a major market tho where the bandwidth is there to be used. I remember when I got the thunderbolt I would get 30+MBPS download speed then it eventually went down to 12mbps. Sure it was still more then fast enough but it was a huge drop in speed.

People forget the target goal of Verizon LTE is only 5-12Mbps when the network is loaded. Getting anything higher is just luck.

Honestly, 5-12Mbps is plenty for a phone. I don't see the need or want for 20-50 for a phone that is data capped. I always laugh when people say my verizon speed is 25Mbps! AKA I can hit my cap in less than 20 minutes!

I'd take 10Mbps any day compared to the Sprint LTE speeds. I got 15Mbps for... 2 days? Now they finally restored it after it was down for 5 months and it is back at 3Mbps.... that HSPA+ speed for Tmobile.

Yeah streaming video is the most you'll do at any instance and until phones can do 4k we wont be needing much from cellular service.

Well you say 5x but their 3g wasnt very fast to begin with compared with tmobile't HSPA+.

Everybody knows that Sprint/Verizon 3G EVDO service doesn't hold a candle to a HSPA network. That why Sprint jumped the gun super early with WiMax and its why Verizon rolled out LTE so hardcore. By comparison, AT&T and TMobile have treated LTE rather secondary, because they can provide a "just as good" alternative.

Verizon lte is shit in NYC.

Yep, and I guarantee you they're already starting to build out NYC for LTE on the AWS (1700/2100 MHz) licenses from the SpectrumCo deal. They didn't spend $3.6 billion on AWS spectrum to not use it.

I'd expect Verizon to quietly add AWS bands to all new 4G phones sometime this year. Once a critical mass of AWS-enabled phones are on the network, it will take the pressure off Verizon's 700 MHz channels.

Just tested the speed outside in downtown San Jose.

Overall, very happy with tmobiles coverage in my area.

Yeah you live in a massive market so coverage would not be an issue. I just quit Tmobile because I couldn't even get a signal in my house, which is about 45 minutes outside of Atlanta. I get 4G LTE at 3-4 bars inside my house with Verizon and it does not lose connection ever.

Also, make sure you do not adjust your account in any way if you are on a contract or they will restart your contract from the day you adjust it. They ran me in circles for 2+ weeks trying to make me pay early termination after my 2 years was up. Garbage company with garbage customer service.

I live and work in Atlanta (major mkt- BTW T-mobile here was formerly Powertel>Voicetream>T-mobile). Unfortunately, I cannot get a T-moble signal inside my home or office (probably combination of building penetration 1900mhz and coverage hole issues ). Verizon network works best for me (better than ATT, and Sprint too).

the nice part about tmo, as i've mentioned in other threads, is that it's cheap enough to have a verizion mifi + tmo family plan for less than a verizon family plan would cost. (maybe dependent on my $30 3gb verizon hotspot plan though)

I live in OC, CA. Im going to try and switch to TMO when my contract is up in early July.

Verizon isn't making any incentives for me to stick around. They are actually getting rid of them.

Leaving TMO now because of the jacked up rates from prepaid. Was paying $50 + tax for everything and 2GB of data to 65 + tax for the same plan.

Gonna try net10 or straight talk.

When are the rates going up? I just checked and my plan is still $30. Unlimited everything prepaid is still $70. Don't see anything about an increase.

Not true at all. My plan is and always has been $30/month for 100 minutes, unlimited txt, unlimited data (5GB full speed).
