So I took that limited Summer edition GMAT test.

So a while back, in the HD forum, someone posted the Free Summer GMAT test. I got in and I took mine yesterday. Being that it wasn't going to cost me anything and I wasn't seriously considering an MBA, I went in blindly. No studying, no pressure, no motivation. LOL. I only got 670. It said that was 89 percentile. So for everyone who knows this stuff, is that a good score or not?

thats pretty good, average is something like 600. i got into my part time mba program with a 690

Average, believe it or not, is 520. 670 is pretty darn good.

The reason why the average is so low is because of all the boneheads that take the tests. Also, there are many people who take the test without studying or without any intentions of going to business school. It's not like the SAT's where everyone studies for it.

A crap load of people dont study for the SATs, and most that take it are idiots to some degree. MCATs and LSATs, those are some hard tests.

Its actually an easy test. I just didn't time it right so I spent too much time with a problem and ended up running short on time. I recalled having to rush through the last 20 math questions because I only had 10mins left.

The way the scoring goes, the first 10 questions are the most important. It's better to guess than to leave an answer blank and well, the test adapts to your abilities so it's hard to say the test is easy or hard. If you get in the 700 range, the questions get very hard and people are forced to spend more time on them. Anyway 670 without studying is damn good. If you write good [convincing] essays, have enough work experience, and receive good letters of rec, you could probably get into many of the full-time programs out there.
