seriously...they are a dark yellow, really weird looking color. As I am sure you are all sick of hearing, I got my wisdom teeth pulled 5 days ago. My face is still a little swollen, but thats not a big deal. I AM CHANGING FREAKING COLORS!!! I am calling my docs in a couple minutes to get in right away.

OK, so here is the scoop. My jaw has some kind of infection going. It also appears I am allergic to penicillin. That explains why I have been so out of it for the past week. The weird colors on my face/neck were just bruising. Thanks for all your advice guys!

You get jaundice when your liver starts to fail, normally the whites in your eyes will turn yellow first.

I doubt it's jaundice, if it was your whole body would be jaundice.

Yeah, when they ganked your teeth, you probably have some blood trapped under your gums... now because new tissue is forming in that area the blood is now dissipating throughout your jaw and neck, giving you some yellowy bruising. Its really easy for this to happen because of all the soft tissue in the face. I wouldn't worry about it.

I'm thinking it's probably light bruising from when they ripped your teeth out.

That sound more like it.

it just appeared...6 days after they did it????
Yeah, my wife had all her wisdom teeth yanked and got bruising after about a week, IIRC. That was 15 years ago so I may be off a day or 2....

People in Off-Topic sure like to spread misinformation.

Jaundice can be a sign of hepatitis or liver failure. In newborns, it's due to other causes (congenital) such as biliary atresia.

As for your neck, it may just be bruising. But it may also be something more serious (like a spreading infection from your dental wound). So keep a very close eye on it. If you have fever or if the area gets bigger and turns black, seek medical attention.
