This thread really isn't helping my cause around here, but I don't care. Attention whoring? You decide.
My best mate and I went to Ontario's largest mall, Square One in Mississauga, this afternoon. We were shopping for clothes.
We hit up the Tommy Hilfiger store and I tried on a few items from his "H" Hilfiger collection. I picked out a purple, pink, and black striped dress shirt I liked. As I was paying for it, the girl behind the counter, ringing me through, said, "Hey, I recognize you! You were the guy who bought a few solid colour shirts last time you were here. You said you were sick of stripes!"
"Yeah, but as soon as I saw the purple one, I had to have it," I replied.
"It's awesome. I love it. This is much better than the navy you bought last time," she exclaimed. She then looked to my buddy, and said, "I bet you're the navy guy. Here he is buying this awesome shirt, and I bet when you guys go to clubs he gets noticed, like, an hour before you do! I mean, you're both good-looking guys, but he's so trendy."
At that point I knew she thought we were gay.
We bantered a bit more. I thanked her, we left, and could barely contain our laughter before exiting the store.
I wasn't bothered in the slightest, neither was my friend, who is considerable less interested in clothes than me. I'm wondering, would that bother you? Has it ever happened?
