Can one of yous intelligent guys explain how d2jsp works?? I get the basic gist of it I suppose but is it 100% on the honor system? What if I sell someone an item and he doesn't send me JSP gold, am I just out of luck?? Also, how do I know what stuff is worth?

Found 2 sets of Trang Oul's armor, since my Nec has taken a temporary back seat to my sorc I figured I'd sell 'em off for some stuff that'd be more helpful ATM (if they're worth anything).

It was good fun, loved cow farming, especially when the portals were 'comprimised'. Nothing like some jack ass that tells you it's clear only to have 10 naked bodies run through and get lynched in 5 seconds.

For those of you interested in getting ideas of built well made I'll suggest a very good Diablo site, It's Diabloii.net, It's probably the best fan site around that's still active with a wealth of information on the game. For some odd reason I can't connect to the site anymore but it should still be possible as some people have done it recently.

I used to be addicted to that game and played it almost none stop for almost 6 years but nowadays I only play a few hours here and a few hours there. I have just recently started a HC character as it's the only thing I haven't tried in this game.

While uber leveling is everyone's new sweetheart, my absolute favorite thing to do in this game, hands down, is level a new character from lvl 20 - 24 in the cow level. Stocked on my enchantress is a raven claw bow (exploding arrows), and the deaths set gloves/belt (20% ias I think).

Put those on a lvl 20 character, enchant with 6k or so dmg for 25 minutes, and hilarity ensues. There's just something extremely satisfying laying waste to hundreds of cows with an otherwise useless lvl 20 character.

roffles! You oughta take down baal solo pretty easily with that much fire damage. Are any of his minions in easy diff fire immunes??

I've considered putting 1 point into enchange to boost my merc's damage a little bit.

I've been doing alot of MF runs with my sorc, problem is that she really shines in nightmare but tends to get her arse tuned in hell. A combination of so-so defense/resists and not being able to dish out enough damage quickly enough (since alot of the enemies are either fire, cold, or both immune [Eldrich is cold immune which kills FO and meteor takes a second to hit, which is annoting since he's speedy too] make it tough. I can do Eldrich/Shenk/Pindle in hell but it takes a second and I've yet to get a single decent unique/set from any of them.

I've had decent luck with NM (mostly Baal) but nothing phenominal. After watching game after game of hammerdins leveling baal and his minions in hell like it's nothing I'm heavily considering selling out and making a hammerdin. It soooooo goes against all I believe in though

could write a book on that one... it's basically what you suspected, with trades conducted on an honor system so to speak. I believe there are options for moderated trades, but you'd probably collect social security sooner than get a moderator lined up. so basically you're left to put your trust into people, and therefore there is no shortage of idiots lined up to scam you if you don't know what you're doing.

I'd imagine it's not very easy starting up with jsp at this point, as the last ladder reset was so long ago, most people are not interested in much other than top of the line gear. Thus, trading something like trang armor probably won't fetch you any real bids. You also run into the problem of being new with no fg, and thus people will insist on you giving an item first before they send their fg, which works in theory, but really leads to a lot of abuse of new members by scammers.

Ultimately, if you have an item that is desired (lets say... a 20 life/5 res all small charm), you'll get plenty of people who want it, and if you watch who you trade with (probably avoid low post, 08 joined members who insist on no moderators/you giving first), you should be ok.

Hrm, an interesting concept, but as you said it's probably too late for me to get started now, most of the stuff I'd have to trade would be worth fractions of $'s. And my other option, Paypaling him to get some fg...I could never justify spending real $$ for videogame items.

Are you kidding? This is an ADD kid's dream game! Hoards of monsters flooding the screen, frantic button hitting...come on!!

Are you plaing multiplayer or singleplayer? You need to play the closed battle.net multiplayer rather than the singleplayer. The game is exactly the same (all video clips/quests/levels/game structure is the exact same) except there are a few extra items/quests online. You need to play on battle.net (I play on the US East realm).

As for druids, I am terrible with druids so I can't be of much help there. I guess it depends on if you're elemental or a shape shifter.

Baal runs were pretty boring after a while. I think we always had a sorceress or some fast character run through to the last level then open a portal. It took about 3 minutes a run. Yes, you got a lot of experience, but seemed too 'efficient'.

Joined in to a "bot" baal game (you know when you see a game called something like "baal-4207" it's been going for a while) with a tele-hammerdin, he was getting to the throne in under 20 seconds every game...it was ridiculous. It's just not...fun!

Cows were just mayhem. As a melee character if you got swarmed you'd better have great life leech or you were in trouble! Windy-zons knocked the crap out of them though. I'd rather do hell cows even if I get less experience. Just so I can hear that classic one liner "moo moo, moo moo moo...moo..."

stand around a zombie in Act 1 long enough, crank up your volume, and you'll eventually hear him say "BRAAAAINNNNSSSSSS"

Tiz not about the drops/exp...I actually had fun killing the cows. Baal gets boring really quickly.

Ahh.. Bloody Runs with Frozen Orb sorc..... I remember those.

Problem with D2 is that eventually it became impossible to "really" play or enjoy the game without botting. I never use bots but that game forced me to do it.
I was running the hammerdin bot almost 24/7 just to stay competitive, and yet I was still getting owned and called a "gay assed n00b" in PvP by 13 year olds(mind you I was doing a good share of owning myself). I just couldn't get "leet" enough no matter how hard I tried. lol

I had a perfect "infinity" spear on my merc, and an "eth" berserker axe with that runeword everyone was after. (forgot the name). And many many more awesome things...
Finally I got scammed on the duped runes... And scammed yet again a few days later by a bastard that posed as my buddy online. He did his homework, observed how my friend types, what words he uses, how he talks. Then exploited my weakness one day and got me to take off all my equip just so he could "check it out". (me and my friend often swapped items in a private game for fun")
It was a huge hit to my account, and yet I recovered, and grinded most of what was in my possession again. I swear if I would ever find that SOB I'd injure him very badly.

Still in the end I was happy, because he made me realize how stupid I was to give so much of my time and energy to that game. (Well that, and I sold my account for enough money to get an awesome Canon printer with "duplex" printing. Back then it was very new and hot)

Lucky for me, I never got into WoW cause of lack of money, but I was dumb enough to get into GW, and spent years on it perfecting my account which I cant even sell now. Hopefully that's the last MMORPG of this type I'll ever play. I found EVE online.
