Unfortunately they fell for the pretty computers and the "switch" videos, unbeknowst to them all to often their entire software library will be a nice set of coasters once they buy that crapple and realize that their choice in software for their new comp is but a shadow of its former self (but I guess on an apple all the software is good so it doesn't matter right? haha).

Crapple has 3-5% market share, which is even too much, considering that except in a few scant cases a PC is not only better, but cheaper as well.

Oops that's the store I meant to type, I called their Lloyd Center location and voicemail came on (since their phones shut off at 6PM).

The "old" iBooks are discounted $100-$200

12.1" (900/128/40GB/combo drive) marked down to $1099 from $1299 with $20 upgrade coupon to Panther

I think I'll wait a while longer, maybe until bluetooth lives up to it's promise and DVD-RW or DVD+RW are on iBook.

Just came back from the Apple Store.. tried to stack the 10% off for today with my student discount and they wouldn't go for it.. oh well.

I didn't get the chance to ask about the 10% applying to the iBook G4s, but when I asked a sales person if I could stack the 10%, they said it'd be one or the other.

I've yet to here anyone getting 10% off a new G4 iBook. Seems kinda stupid to me. I mean you have a brand new product that people have been asking, and brand new OS update people have been looking for, so I'd think the 10% off deal would be the fall straw and bring in all the fence sitters. Hell, I can't afford a new computer but w/Panther and the new iBooks I was seriously considering droping the cash. But when I found out the 10% off didn't apply to them it was kinda a buzz kill and my nearly unstoppable desire to spend impuslively<sp?> flew out the window.

Why oh why must the on-campus computer store not stock Panther until Monday? Apple told them they couldn't start selling it until 8:00PM today, and they close for the week at 5:00PM. Now I'm going to have to wait for the rest of the weekend...

Not to mention I bought my iBook G3 a mere couple of months before they released the G4's. I needed it for school so I don't regret getting it, but now I have yet another thing to drool over
