I have to shave every damn day, and Mach3's are expensive. For what I pay for a pack, I can try this, so I'm on board. I researched for a few minutes on blades, and found that the sampler pack that you mentioned does not contain any of the Feather brand, which are apparently the best. I picked up a pack of those too so I can try them out. At $5.50 for 10 it can't hurt, but that is 55 cents a blade while the next best reviewed I found was Derby Extra, at about 16 cents each. Derby's are in the sample pack, so I'll try those out too. Of course, a Mach3 cartredge is about $6, so both are a huge savings.

Best is pretty subjective, but to say the least Feathers are by far the sharpest blades I've ever used. I've been shaving with a DE razor for nearly a year now, so I may give them another try. The first time wasn't very pleasant.

If you can't shave your Nads with it, would you really feel safe shaving your Neck with it?

At least, if you cut your jugular you will die quickly. If you cut your wang off, then you would have to cut your jugular too.

Yeah, listen to this man. Feathers are beyond sharp. I would recommend you get the hang of shaving with a DE before you put the feathers in. I stopped using them because I had to go so slow to make sure I didn't cut myself. This thread makes me want to give them another try though.

I've gone double edge shaving some 2 years ago.
Never gonna pay those ridiculous disposable razor blade prices ever again.
I bought a 100 pack of Feather "High Stainless Platinum" Double-Edge Blades for $25 about 2 years ago.
Still using them.

I highly recommend watching this video:

And definitely do not press against your face. My blades are extremely sharp....

Couple tips:
  • Hot shower... make sure your face gets a lot of hot water to soften up the whiskers
  • I usually have a small dry towel rag hanging to dry my face after I've splashed my face with hot water for a minute or so.
  • I dab some pre-shaving oil on my face and neck
  • I than apply Nivea Sensitive Skin shaving gel
  • I let the weight and use very light pressure to shave with the grain FIRST
  • I use short strokes and switch between both sides of the blade.
  • Reapply shaving gel
  • After I've gone over my face I go against the grain in very short strokes --- never long strokes against the grain..
  • The biggest no-no are long strokes with pressure against the grain, you'll definitely shear your face off.
  • After I've got that smooth shave, I turn off the shower but keep the water running... I switch to very cold water
  • I splash my face for a minute with very cold water to seal my pores and if I do have any nicks, the cold water will help to constrict your pores and cuts.
  • When I get out, dab my face dry and proceed to apply Nivea Sensitive Skin After-shave Balm
[*]Look in the mirror and make sure I'm good to go.

Thanks, I ordered a pack of 100 Personna Israeli "red pack" blades for $13. If they're good I'm set to go for a while, if not -- eh, it was only $13.

Let us know how it goes, I was getting interested in trying DE shaving myself after the other thread that ended up discussing it. I am considering the Merkur HD, however I may have to check the one you ordered out since I have somewhat bigger hands. Wish I could justify they Goodfellas DE myself cuz it looks damn nifty!

I still haven't got mine yet
Then again I opted for the free shipping option; 2 to 9 business days.

Where did you get them from? If you can confirm they're the actual Israeli Personna's, that's an awesome steal.
