I've been thinking about this for a while, but given some very recent events (both online and in the real world), I'm going to go ahead and ask it...
Given that humans are, when it comes down to it, worthless trash (9 times out of 10), why the heck are we folding (or crunching whatever else it is that we crunch)?
I mean, aside from the enjoyment we get out of it (given that we're nerds), we're paying money out of our own pockets to fund the machines, and pay for the electricity, to make the world a better place. Or are we?
In my opinion, the world is trash, to be perfectly honest. I am an idealist at heart, and if everyone was like me, the world would be pretty close to a utopia, but really, I'm just wasting my time. Don't you get that feeling as well?
Honestly, there are a few people here and there that are nice, but on the whole, I've found people and societies are utter trash. So why bother?
Serious question by the way. I'm looking for serious responses from what I hope are some decent people.
