What about it is so much better than IE?

BTW: It looks an awful lot like Netscape...

That is why I use it.

what's the tabbed browsing all about?

Right click on a link, select open in new tab. Its wonderful.

Yup. I don't know why Microsoft hasn't implemented this yet.

You can skin it so it doesn't look quite so bad as Netscape. EDIT->Pref->Appearance->Themes

Tabbed browsing is kick ass. I set mine on middle click (pushing in the scroll wheel). EDIT->Pref->Navigator->Tabbed Browsing->Middle-Click/cntr-click
I also set mine to load in the background, so I can open a bunch of threads and continue browsing threads while they load. Same as above, but "Load links in background".

You can prevent most pop-ups (yes I have found a few that get around it). EDIT->Pref->Advanced->Scripts/Plugins.
Turn off "open unrequested windows". I also have "move/resize" turned off.

If you press the middle mouse wheel button and it will open the link in a new tab. You can also use Ctrl+T to do it.

Opera is also awesome for having multiple websites open. For example: pricewatch, resellerratings, mcglen, eBay, newegg, Aopen, Abit and Soyo. Really nice when researching hardware purchases. Opera has like a "desktop" with a taskbar and each of the open windows has an entry on the taskbar.

Mozilla rules! Can't touch it! Plus it's something totally other than MicroTrash Interwreck Exploder, or their seriously lame excuse for a bloatware browser.

they have.. it's called the taskbar. seriously, though, what makes tabs better than seperate windows? especially when you have the taskbar at the bottom of your screen which has all of your open websites on tabs. that and you can always use the magnificent alt-tab option!

One other thing I did was NOT install Flash in my Mozilla browser. This means that the really annoying Flash crap out there doesn't bother me anymore. And if I find a place with Flash that I really want to see, cut-paste the URL into IE and view it there.

Most of the annoying flash content out there are ads anyway, so I'm not missing much.

I wholeheartedly agree. With the right skin, Mozilla looks a lot like IE.

ZV

EDIT: The reason I like tabs better than seperate windows is simply because it's less clutter in the taskbar.

Everything else uses the task bar though so it is nice to have all your open web pages in ONE window that you can minimize.

I agree. When I collapse Mozilla, all the windows go with it. And virtually no pop ups. It's pretty darn amazing. I downloaded it just because of this thread

Mozilla - bloat = Phoenix

Can you tell me what the bloat is in Mozilla?

This is actually key for work-time surfers. If I have multiple web pages open, I know that with Mozilla I am only 1 alt-tab away from making my surfing disappear. With IE, 1 alt-tab can just take you to another IE, or worse yet one of the bazillion pop-unders that are lying in wait behind your IE window.

As for getting between opened web pages, Ctrl-PgUp/PgDn will take you between the opened tabs in Mozilla.
