A lady ran the light/failed to yield today and pretty much totaled my 335, I have to wait for the insurance to tell me, but I don't think it's really salvageable.

I love(d) this car, should I just get another one, or maybe look into a MB? What model is the equivalent to the 335?

Ugh that really sucks..

If I were in your shoes I'd try something else. Maybe a current gen mustang or MB.

The closest MB is probably a c300 but I doubt you'd be happy with that. Can you swing a C55 AMG?

Stock for stock? I had considered an S5 but they weren't available yet when I picked up the 335. You have a choice there now between the V8 and SC'd V6 depending on year.

Depending on the year of yours, perhaps pick up an LCI model? The new idrive is eons better than the old one and hang onto the N54 (some 2010s only).

If you got the C class. Stick to the 350. Don't go 300.
I would go for 335 or 1series.
If you don't mind the look. Personally, im in love with the 1.
Sorry to hear that.
I guess it's at a point where you may not want them to fix it because the damage is that bad?

Yea, i'd much rather have a new one, the damage is pretty significant and i'll be disappointed if they say sure we'll fix it, because it will entail quite a bit, and a repaired car is never the same (at least in my eyes).

As for the SL550... yea that's a little out of my price range.

this 335 was a 2009.

I'm not interested in a current gen mustang, i know their performance is pretty amazing, but it's just not my style.

The newer 335s have a much, much better integration and usability with their idrive than the 09 ever did. However the engine only comes with one turbo as suppose to two.

Just get another 335. Great cars, nothing really like them out there - whoever mentioned Mustang should be forced to drive a Beige Corolla for a week. Hopefully your insurance covers you for full replacement value.

More importantly I hope you are ok and nobody was hurt.

Another vote for another 335i. It's the most refined and best performing car in that segment for that price. The equivalent priced C class MBs are cheap watered down wanna be MBs that might as well have been built by Kia. If you replaced it with a C class it would HAVE to be some kind of mid to high number AMG to compare with a 335i. 335i is just such a well rounded versatile car.

I'm not a fan of the new 335s it would have to be the another 09 or so. I haven't found anything else i like at this price point, so that is probably the direction I will go.

Those 135s don't even feel like BMWs to me.

Power_Hour: I was not hurt, the other driver appeared unhurt, walking talking etc, but opted to go to the hospital to get checked out, I assume she is alright (I certainly hope so).

with the money, you can find a decent used e46 m3. Amazing car in both performance and practicality.

If you dont mind 4 doors the E55 AMG is a budget 469 hp beast.

It is really hard to find something that does all the things the 335i does right.

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned a B8 (2010+) Audi S4. I drove one back to back with an (awd) 335i and it's a very worth competitor.

Well this also depends on how much of a car person the OP is. Car maintenance can be a big problem too. Based on my experience, between BMW, MB and Audi, I think BMW is the easiest to do self maintenance on. Never a MB fan.. and in my local MB dealer, none of sales drives MB too..

How about an E46 M3? Early version might fall into your budget bracket.

A Boxster? Really? I've always considered them a 'fake' porsche, am I way off?

Yeah..way off for sure. They got that rap because they were sort of the first 'not-911' cars that Porsche made. But they drive really well (if you're not too tall), have great looks and the feel like a porsche. At this point they make the boxster, caymen, cayenne, panamera...there is nothing wrong with a non-911 porsche. They are a lot of fun to drive.

(i was debating between a boxster and 911...i ended up with a 911, but only because i fell in love with one and got a great deal, but i would not hesitate to get a boxster just because it is "fake")

Actually, the mid engine layout may be superior to the rear-engined layout in the 911.
More stable handling at least should be the result. You do go down on power, but still, a last gen boxster/cayman is a decent car standing by itself.
