The only series I have been religiously following for long. A masterpiece by the other Nolan. So technically accurate.

Sad to see it end. Ending was more of emotions than action.

Anyone else followed it?

Today? I watched the finale a couple of days ago in Canada.

I thought the last several episodes weren't very good. In fact, I haven't been that happy with rhe last couple of seasons. I guess most people agreed as the ratings recently have been poor from what I gather.

I'm still not sure how I feel about how this ended. The character moments were good but as far as the end game at some point Samaritan won me over and Finch et all never really won me back.

i think they ended it the best they could with a low budget half season

and i actually enjoyed that it got back to more of the old solving numbers type of episodes that were common in seasons 1-3

If I understand the significance of the numbers correctly, it seems the ratings were good in seasons 1-3, OK in season 4, and poor (relatively speaking) in season 5.

I might yet, I didn't watch The Wire, BB, or Firefly when they were current.

I liked it. Not happy about certain events but it was good. There was some total Nicholas Cage in City of Angels happening.

It was a great series and at it's start it reminded me of "The Equalizer" from the 1980's where people received help from a mercenary who had a mysterious source of funding and who also had some helpful sidekicks.

I'd say after season 3 I didn't like it as much but still watched everything.

The episode where John is dying and hallucinates that Carter is there was probably my favorite episode.

I just started watching this on Netflix, really like it untill the root character got introduced. I've only seen her in a few episodes so hopefully that storyline isn't pervasive.

Is it any surprise that the ratings went down when they went away from the format of the first 3 seasons? lol. Like Brian said above, I liked seasons 1-3 quite a bit. When they started getting into the Samaritan stuff it started to go downhill...then it went downhill really fast.

IMO, they made it too complicated. My parents are indicators for me if a show is too complicated and they both started to really dislike it in Season 4. They like simple episodic shows where you really don't need to know what happened in S2E3 to know what's going on in S2E13. If that makes sense. I think they are "typical" viewers (both retired, elderly).

Samaritan is this huge adversary which they never manage to make any advancement against; something happens, a small victory, then the bad guys makes a short speech that essentially is either "we planned all that" or "they think they won, but it's an irrelevant victory".

I watch because of the story. If the story never goes forward, it's no use watching.

I really wish there was complete 5th season to explore some of the potential story arcs in season 5.

Loved her. I thought there wasn't enough of her in season 3 and 4. She was finally getting tons of screen time in season 5...

...then they killed her off! It took me a few days to get over it. Love Amy Acker, hope she lands another major role ASAP.
