<< As I read these forums, I find it hard to believe that it seems most people are set on getting blood for what was lost. The US has preached for years that democracy should be used before military in situations like this, and though many times it has done little good, that (morally) should be the route that is taken. No, I'm not saying that the US should talk to the perpetrators and come to a fair punishment by asking them how they would like to be spanked. I'm saying that perhaps it should not be out of the question that the US will want to solve this problem peacefully, and try to set an example of how to deal with issues like this to others who would fire missles at first warning of danger.

In the case of bin laden, the US has asked Afganastan to hand him over. They refuse. The UN does the same. They refuse. The US launched a couple of cruise missle strikes against laden. Afganastan still refuses to hand him over. Diplomacy has been tried. It has failed each and every time.
I care not if bin laden was not the mastermind of this terrorist attack, for he was the drive behind many others and he must pay for those crimes. If it can be proven that he was behind this, then all the better.
If Afganastan does not hand him over, the UN should unilaterally go in and rip his sorry butt out. If Afganastan's government gets in the way, then they should be destroyed in kind. No longer should anyone put up with this crap...
