McCarthy, Goldwater, Nixon, Atwater, and Gingrich built the modern Republican Party. Lincoln had nothing to do with this mess.

Well, Reagen said the party left him. I for one agree with that. Over the course of time the Democratic party has morphed into this ultra far-left, progressive, nonsensical, quasi-Socialistic party. This is a party that props up black lives matter and shuns police officers. This is a party that uses blacks for their vote and then tosses them to the curb where they can't find a job. Yet I thought the Democratic party was about the working man? This is a party that supports abortion yet says black lives matter. Which is funny because Margaret Sanger created Planned Parenthood to get rid of blacks. This party is so dysfunctional they had to oust Little Debby and then went through like three contenders in a matter of days. Yet the shill sheep in this country don't care, they don't mind. They reap what they sow.

To be fair, the Republicans haven't done shit now that they control both sides of Congress. I'm not a Republican however. I consider myself a staunch Conservative.

Our history classes have failed you so badly. The revolution's slogan was no taxation without representation. It was not against taxation itself.

I guess it's no surprise that a inept historical meme would choose The Patriot as one of its images though, considering how totally historically inept that movie was.

When the government spends more money than it takes in, the national debt increases. To keep this simple so you can understand it,
Last year of Bush, income = $100, spending $160.
Obama brought that down to income = $110, spending $120.
Yes, the national debt is still going up, but not as fast as it was going up when Bush was in office. You can't just walk into office and say, "hey, we're going to stop paying for these two wars we're in." And you certainly don't say, "hey, let's go to war AND cut taxes. That'll work out good." (Bush)

You really feel represented? I mean that's an awful lot of red, white and blue dick being jammed up America's ass without a reach around.

Language, son, language. You've got to learn how to better express your feelings, even in P&N.

Represented? Sure, at least as represented as any one person is likely to feel in a country of 350 million people.

What would it take for you to feel represented? My guess is getting what you want. That's not representation though.

No, but thanks for putting words in my mouth.

Represented to me? Well, how about less taxation rape? How about less regulation? How about the Government just get the hell out of the way for once? Just a few minor things.

How would he have gone about 'building momentum'?
By pivoting to a populist platform that plays to the middle class and go after the low hanging fruit, also throwing your opposition a few carrots to back them into a corner. Despite Reagan's many flaws, he knew how to communicate directly and clearly to the American people.

The Republicans were able to obstruct because Obama gave them the opportunity to.

Can you be more specific? It seems to me that you're basically describing exactly what Obama did. The stimulus bill was about 1/3rd tax cuts for the exact purpose of 'throwing your opposition a bone'. What was their response? Scorched earth opposition.

The decision to obstruct Obama at every turn was made before he spent a day in office. Comparing him to Reagan doesn't make sense because partisanship so much more extreme now.

I don't understand Tenbuck. Wasn't the Dems in control during the first part of Obumber's term? Didn't he have "absolute power?"

We tried that, remember? They called it the Ownership Society. We're living in the aftermath.

I've often wondered if the Bush Presidency would have been different if it weren't for 9/11. In August 2001 he came out here to CO and I seen him over the house in Marine One flying around town and checking things out. He had his whole Presidency in front of him. Then one month latter 9/11 and from that day forward the country was united for a brief time and then stark division of epic proportions.

Beautiful post; in that it illustrates what some American Morons actually believe.
Take note that I wrote "believe" and not "think". That is because "thinking" requires critical brain functions that believing do not require.
This is not a critique of Belief, which is a wonderful thing. This is simply pointing out that Americas middle has a big heart, and a small brain that is racist and scared.

First, it's spelled liar, not lier. Second, the proper word is saw, not seen, as in "I saw him over the house". Your failure to properly use basic, 4th grade English grammar is rather telling.

And if the shoe fits, well, you know the rest, PortaJohn.

Now just because Connor doesn't believe in fancy book learnin' don't mean nuthin! He has the best brain and uses the best words.

He's only a bad President to people that judge him based on results. Those that judge him based on his intentions are very enamored of him.

There is no such thing as failure to Democrats unless a Republican can be blamed. That's evident right here in this thread. This is why there is little sense in listing his failures and shortcomings. Democrats have convinced themselves that they are blameless.

137 days to go.

My parents are Republicans so if a party speaker echoes an opinion then they take it upon themselves to begin echoing the same sentiments even in the face of evidence to the contrary. As long as people refuse to reason things out for themselves you will have this issue regardless of the person or topic at hand.

Thank you for once again bringing us the perspective of the lunatic fringe right wing talk radio crowd.

I sincerely hope that one day you are able to escape the bubble you've put yourself in.

It's not like you & the Repubs wanted him to take the direction that the American people endorsed when they elected him, is it?

Of course not. He's been opposed at every turn, often successfully. Immigration reform is the perfect example.

Repubs just had to keep it around as an election issue, unwittingly creating an opening for the Donald. They knew their base would love it, they just didn't realize quite how much fear & prejudice they'd whipped up over the years. They also underestimated quite how badly their own economic policy had beaten down that base.

I think Obama won more than he lost. That's a compliment, considering the opposition.

Many ingredients can be substituted into your word salad, at no additional charge.

Your sloganeering here is awful. It offers no specifics and ignores the affects of said vague policies. What is "taxation rape", how does it compare to other countries or US historical rates? What specific taxes do you want to lower or do away with....without being able to complain about the deficit?

Which regulations do you want to do away with, and more importantly, why are they there to begin with? You cannot honestly answer the former without knowing the latter. People don't just dream up regulations in order to make life difficult for you personally. They ALL have reasons for being in place. Some are good, some bad, and some just plain obsolete. Ignoring those that exist for good reason and throwing the baby out with the bath water is just plain childish, but I suppose it is easier to parrot Ayn Rand's stance on the regulation boogeyman.

What does it mean to "get the government out of the way" and how do you reconcile this sentiment with a party platform that will enshrine the government as a bureaucratic, moralistic busybody? The cognitive dissonance on that one is astounding.
