Not to mention, it takes a toll on the body. Bill Romanowski described football sunday as being in 15 car crashes, and having a week to recover before doing it all over again the following sunday.

Also, the article just says that the task of getting a good hit on the ball with the bat is the hardest and requires the most amount of skill (specifically hand-eye coordination), not that the sport as a whole is the hardest. The sum of abilities and knowledge for football positions like quarterback and receiver make it a harder sport on the whole. There's a lot more to strategy and team tactics in a short span of time in football than there is baseball.

How exactly do you come to the conclusion that "baseball" is more difficult than any other sport based on only one aspect of the game: batting? The author presents this "1 v 9" scenario which is total crap. I suppose I could say a hockey goalie is 1 v (whatever # of people is on a hockey team) and say the same for just about any position on any team sport. Maybe we should use 1st basemen as our example... does catching a ball thrown to you make the sport the most difficult?

I'm not arguing that other sports are more difficult, but the logic used in this article is major fail.

Baseball has the hardest elements of any sport...but overall i would say it is not the hardest sport...actually, i don't think there is any 'hardest' sport...they are all pretty freakin tough at the professional level.
