His senior year in high school I watched one of his games live at Palo Alto high school. Didn't think he end up in the NBA, but he did improve a lot in college.

He was the tallest guy on the team that won the California State High School Basketball championship in 2006.

Timmy Chang. He was in Cardinals camp and then got cut and ended up in NFL Europe or something. Last I heard, he was playing in the CFL.

I watched that game against the wizards and was shocked. Wall couldn't get by him. When Wall did make it down the lane, Lin kept pace and caused a jump ball on the shot. His balance and footwork is pretty stunning...all Wall's jukes got him nowhere.

Offensively, he plastered Wall and the other defender on the pick and roll, and one on one went right by him, the way wall is expected to do to him.

He's a very quick thinking guard with excellent timing too. When you see him pass to teammates popping out, they are sharp and perfectly timed. They weren't difficult passes, just something very noticeable compared to the other nba wannabees in the summer league.

I think he's going to do very well if he doesn't get lost in Nellies fauxball. The way he played, its very shocking he didn't get drafted.

He played off Wall quite a bit to guard against the drive and looked intelligent but slow. A decently quick pg with an outside shot would destroy Lin based on the clips I've seen. Lin also lacks a reliable j and will likely struggle to score in the NBA.

That said, he definitely looks like he gets it and I hear he works hard. I'm a Warriors fan and hope he does well and becomes a good backup pg.

It's too bad Yao Ming came to the NBA so late... if he was born earlier, he would have played in a league more suited towards him. He's still a great center though.

But yeah, we'll probably see some more asian non-centers in the NBA as basketball becomes more popular in China.

Anyone who watched college Bball last year knew Lin was a pretty good player. He had some monster games playing with Harvard last season, even OOC games. Not surprising to see him do well.

I doubt Lin will get the Chinese vote. First, he is an American. Second, his family originally comes from Taiwan. I don't see mainland China promoting him like they did with Yao and Yi. Anyway, Yao deserved to be an All-Star those years that he was. Yi's votes a couple of years ago were definitely a little suspect.

Wow, I just read the article earlier today that the Warriors signed this guy. It wasn't until the 2nd post of this thread that HopJokey posted that I realized I saw this kid play that state championship highh school game.

Looking forwarding to watching Warriors games anyway but a local kid signing with the team he grew up watching is pretty cool!
