136 points actually.Jeremy Lin has now scored 130 points in his first five starts. He's passed Shaq for the most since the ABA-NBA merger.
Hehe. That's hilarious. He thinks Lin needs a new haircut and leather pants though.LOL, even Metta World Peace is a big fan now
@Mike_Bresnahan
Metta World Peace just stormed out of the Laker players' lounge screaming, "Linsanity, Linsanity!"
Not saying he's not good... but geez on Chinese and the "OMFG, he's Chinese, so we all have to cheer and worship him" now.
is that you, Floyd Mayweather Jr?Not saying he's not good... but geez on Chinese and the "OMFG, he's Chinese, so we all have to cheer and worship him" now.

There's never been a Chinese-American in the NBA before, heaven forbid some fraction out of 1.4 billion ethnic Chinese are excited about that. Never mind plenty of Knicks fans and non-Asians who find this a compelling story as well.
Thanks for the ignorance...about sports and successful athletes, particularly underdogs, as well as the common habit of supporting people they can identify with (germans-->dirk, spaniards-->gasols, rubio, calderon, jewish--casspi, farmar, retards-->you )
The media has been craving to anoint 'the next larry bird' ever since he's retired...can't let go of finding the next hero to the white man.

It's exactly that thing where he/she is exactly <your nationality/ethnicity>, so suddenly you're the world's biggest fan of that person that I find phoney.
He's good, not denying that, and it's great that people can identify with them now, but now the news is showing all the local Chinese media flocking to games, nerdy kids being interviewed, etc., etc. The whole group think thing...
The ethnicity aspect is understandable, but to me I'm more happy that he's not an @sshole like some of the other players in the league. However, I don't think it's wrong to think there is a bit of truth to what Imp is saying. I think the most interesting part of his story is the nerdy underdog aspect, and his previously hidden ability to play, while race should be secondary.
Nonetheless, the truth is he's gonna be BIG with the endorsements for the Chinese market. I think this picture says it all.
It makes Toronto look like it is 90% Asian.

Edit: Woops, missed that last line. Sorry for offending you with my complete lack of first-hand knowledge about Chinese people.
I'm not white, figure out why it might be bugging me.
And I'm talking about first-hand experience with people whom I know have zero interest in basketball.
I deleted the bolded part but you apparently already hit the quote button. Taken back...shouldn't have gone there, particularly w/o provocation.
There is a lot of truth to what you're saying, I just don't see a problem with it at all, particularly for such an innocuous subject and not something more hostile racist, etc.
Yes, and no.I bet Gayweather is somewhere eating crow for dinner.
Leaving Lin open for the 3 at the end of that game was just stupid, kid is money with the rock.
