I've been following this guy via his YouTube channel thejlin7 since he first signed with Golden State. He tore it up at Harvard and the D-League with the Reno Bighorns. The problem is that he chose to join GSW as opposed to the Dallas Mavericks; he would have a ring by now because Dallas would have discovered his talent earlier than D'Antoni and the Knicks. Dallas has a 40 year old Kidd and a 5"10 J.J. Barea; they could have used Lin in place of Barea whenever Kidd needed a break. GSW also had Ellis and Curry in the PG position, so he never really got a chance to play.
D'Antoni phrased it beautifully when he said that he and his staff noticed Lin had an uncanny ability to drive at will, but they didn't know whether he could finish at the rim, shoot, or play defense. Had D'Antoni's job not been on the line and had he not been desperate for a competent PG, I think Lin would still be bench warming.
I'm hoping they guarantee his contract and pay him way more than the 800K/year he's currently getting. If Le(no 4th quarter)Brick James is getting 8 million a year, Lin deserves at least a quarter of that if not more.
