I'm surprised it's going to support DX10/10.1. I'd guess many still having ´such a card PCs fall short of the 1GB VRAM requirement though.

These are, indeed, the official specs released from Rockstar this morning (along with the new release date of March 24th).

Would be great if the OP was updated to avoid confusion.

And you're just a bit coo-coo. It's nice to know my just replaced Radeon 5850 and Phenom II x4 system would've been able to run this. :awe:

But I built this new i5-4690K and Radeon R9 270X for a reason!

I'm serious. Recommended requirements always fail at providing an optimal experience. They should be considered minimum in most cases. Recommended gets you about 30fps average with standard settings. That means dips into the 20s or worse at times in many games.

I'd back Moonbogg here, recommended is optimistic if you can get it high. You want to up everything, you'll need a lot more. Still I'd just swap the Intel CPU for a stock 4790K at least.

That 65GB HDD, meh, what is it needing? Uncompressed audio that consoles can't hack?

My experience with recommended requirements has rarely ever been that bad. Usually the required and minimums are higher than they need to be.

ok, now im getting impatient, the game is now delayed until March 24th

Lol at least you're only impatient. The folks over at neogaf are acting like the sky is falling. I've been lurking there recently and jesus christ talk about the most childish group of users ever.

As long as the game works on release, (inevitable server load issue aside) I really don't mind the game being delayed 2 months.

GTA4 port was completely unplayable until an entire year's worth of patches.

One of the reasons I like it here on Anandtech. It's (mostly) free of whiny, entitled 15 year olds, unlike most gaming communities.

Isn't supporting DirectX 10 easy if you're already supporting 11, because the difference comes down to enabling new features and the basic codepath is the same?

I mostly lurk there to hear them complain about how poorly made XYZ game is and that's the reason they were bad.
My latest fun has been hearing complaints of skyward sword's combat system.

Still fun to hear them whine about how hard Dark Souls/2 is. Hell, just fun to hear them whine about pretty much everything, but now I see why games are dumbed down more and more.
A lot of that forum would be extremely happy with a "Press X to proceed" type game.

Of course, the game i have only waited over a year to be ported over to pc is yet again being delayed a few more months.

I got over the first delay but ffs its been quite a while since September 2013 when it came to PS3 or Nov when it hit/XBOX 360.What the hell is taking so long?

Yeah try telling your friends your pc is so epic for gaming while they have played enough GTA5 on PS3 to make your head spin, but here i am still waiting for a freaking release on pc .:|

AT has it's own community quirks haha.

The specs are interesting. I'm guessing there will be a lot of density and distance options like in GTA4 that will really help low spec systems run the game but will vastly improve the experience if you turn them up.

You're jealous that a person played a game on PS3 before you played it on PC? Seriously?

And you tell your friends how epic your PC is?

Supposedly. It's just that we've seen more and more games not having DX10/10.1 support. And this year, even the GTX 295 is becoming six years old

Not jealous, everyone i know has played this on PS4 or PS3 and well i can't even tell them how awesome it could be on pc cause who on console is gonna give 2 craps about it having potentially better graphics a whole year later on pc?I am the only one in a group of friends i know who pc games exclusively

Maybe it's these sorts of delays that help just push console gamers to stick to console, whos gonna want to wait a whole year for a port to hit pc?

GTA is a huge series,i know pc sales aren't close enough to console but it surely is discouraging to have to wait even longer.

I guess I'm just failing to understand the joy in telling people how great it looks on PC compared to their PS4/PS3.

Plenty of us PC players have been waiting for GTA5 for a long time. The PC version should've been out when the PS4 and Xbone versions did.
