If this is true, you should be focused less on sex chat and more on uncovering what files this guy has downloaded/copied from the server in recent months. Client lists, trading docs, etc. And all of your searching should be documented and preserved in an acceptable manner. I've handled more than a few misappropriation cases involving former employees leaving with data they shouldn't have, and it runs the spectrum from innocent to intending to set up a competing shop.

If he has an employment agreement, that should be checked. Company employee manuals/policies should also be checked.
