I can't stand office pot lucks.

Cuz you're a crappy cook or you don't like to share?

Because i work with the people...and if they are slobs at work, they are at home, and there's no telling what's in the food they bring.
just the very thought of what is in my co-workers home cooked food makes me nauseous

Which is why i don't participate in potlucks. If pressured, i'll bring something in (store bought...bag of chips, cookies or something) but will not partake in the eating.

If it's a really small office, and i've been there a while, i may feel differently. But the places i've worked that do it are large companies.

You folks don't like humanity much do you! It's all right, we'll find a dust free corner over there where you can practice nerdiness.

Office Potluck Parties....or as I like to refer to them as, "Figure out who you work with is a cheap bastard"

We used to do these things as I work off-shift hours, so it was nice once in a while to bring in some stuff for everyone to eat. Well, after always being the one who brings in the more 'expensive' foods, like the easter Ham or pot roast, I stopped. Because some people only would bring in a bag of chips. And not talking about the family pack either.

The Snack Pack kind.

I work with a bunch of cheap ass bastards.

Make poll.

I've had/made blue cheese potato salad. It's the best potato salad there is - takes like a perfectly done backed potato. Blue cheese is great on anything, it automatically makes it better.

Maybe thats the thing.... i guess if blue cheese is going to go in the mix, you have to know what you're doing. I didn't taste it, but apparently the guy didn't know what he was doing, there are 2 of the ~40 of us here that like blue cheese and even they said it was bad.

It might be a sick joke though b/c i keep hearing random gagging around the office as people bite in to what otherwise looks like a tasty potato salad.

My work is funny.

Given that people will sue if you look at them the wrong way, I'm surprised companies would allow something like this. Imagine the fun if someone got food poisoning, or thought they got food poisoning. Ask your lawyer what he'll be bringing to the next potluck lunch.

Whats wrong with blue cheese? What kind of blue cheese? You all must have pretty bland tastes in food if not one person ate it. Whats acceptable to you? Bag of chips? Pizza from a shop?

i dont care for it much, but if someone made it id try it.

also, i cook a lot, and cook what most people around me consider "unusual" food. but id never make something like that for a group of people unless i was damn certain theyd like it.

Yeah! Everybody should have your exact taste in food! WTF are they thinking?

Not. One. Person. Liked it.

What about the person that brought it? Did they like it?

There is absolutely nothing unusual about bluecheese and potatoes. That's the thing, it's one of the "they just go well together" tastes.

They really outta label who made what at pot-lucks. There's people in my office who's stuff I don't want to touch with a 10-foot pole.

Such as young mothers who have their kids help make the food and the lady who smokes and has a bunch of cats at home.

I usually stick to the store bought stuff at pot lucks and only risk the mystery crock pot if I know who made it is solid.

It's actually a good recipe, but you HAVE TO KNOW IT'S BLEU CHEESE BEFORE BITING

There should have been a sign or something. I had some with hot wings once and loved it.

My work is funny.

That actually sounds like it could be pretty tasty. But I understand that bleu cheese is not for everyone.

good blue cheese or roquefort kicks ass. Is this recipe sans mayonnaise? if so...it could very well be the first potato salad that I ever attempt to consume
