Damn, it's threads like these and some steak ones that make me want a steak. But I'm in a motel and don't really have anything to cook it with. I guess I could sit by myself at a restaurant, but I don't really want to do that for any place besides fast food.

So I'll have to go get some fast food somewhere.
I've eaten at Chili's by myself when I was on work travel, had to have a steak and a beer my last day there haha.

I feel awkward eating at sit-down restaurants by myself. Usually get room service or eat at an airport bar while I'm on travel.

yeah I'm the same way.

Eating out is a social thing for me. I have to eat with someone.

It's like going to the movies yourself. Who does that??

Yesterday, baby back ribs with my world famous home made BBQ sauce with Jack Daniels.

OK. So it's not really world famous. Still good, though.

Yeah I sort of agree... that's probably why I've never done it before. But this is the first time in a new place, and I don't know anyone yet, well not anyone I could call up to hang out anyway. But a couple of weeks of Taco Bell and crap is getting old, but going past fast food gets you to a sit-down place where it kind of stinks by yourself.

Maybe I could go to a sort of sports bar with a bar where I might make small talk with others. I don't want to bring a book in some place and look like that guy (awkward guy) waiting. Oh well, if I'm in the mood for a satisfying meal later, I'll go somewhere sit-down regardless... I don't mind myself and don't care what other people think. Maybe find a young female having to do the same thing.

Meat. Grilled Burgers and Dogs (Zweigles!) Sides were home made macaroni salad, chips and dip, watermelon, grapes, corn on the cob, some local brewed root beer, some italian soda, and some baby formula (for the 1 month old!).

Dessert will come later on around 5pm... Home made no-bake strawberry cheesecake.

Smoked some baby back ribs on my new Weber Smokey Mountain smoker. Absolutely delicious! I wrapped the ribs in foil for 1 hour w/ honey to give it fall off the bone tenderness. I like my ribs very tender and that did the trick. Very impressed with the smoker.

I ended up pan-frying a ribeye. Didn't turn out half bad. I'll take what I can get; I haven't had steak in a long time so I figured today was as good as day of any.

OMG I love Zweigle's white hots. I wish they sold them down here in Texas. I buy a case of them whenever I take my wife home to NY. They never last long enough.

I couldn't find any good looking ribeyes at ingles or kroger last night, so I picked up a 3 1/2lb. chuck roast. threw it in the crock pot last night around 1am and pulled it out alittle after 12 this afternoon. It was very good and tender, but it wasn't no ribeye.

I grilled a large T-bone and ate it with my 9 year old Grandson.

We also fried onion slices and large sliced taters.

Dessert was fresh baked bread pudding.

Took my wife to Texas Roadhouse today. The last time I went was last year, before I learned how to grill (many thanks to iamwiz82 for his masterful instruction). Had Top Sirloin steak. What a waste of money! My steaks taste 10x better

My wife and I both agreed that "going out to eat" now means setting up the lawn chairs and firing up the grill

I cooked up two racks of baby back ribs and some boneless, skinless chicken breasts. I did the ribs in a rub overnight and slow cooked them at 250 degrees for about an hour and a half (they were small racks) and the chicken breasts were marinated in Lawry's Jamaican Jerk and Lawry's Garlic and Herb seasoning (3 breasts in each marinade). My wife made a fruit salad and a pie for desert. We had a couple friends over for martinis and BBQ. Food was excellent and the company was also excellent.

We did up a tri-tip, marinated in lime, tangerine, onion, garlic, and jalapeno. Boy howdy, that was some good stuff.
