I don't do much at all. I go into work, sit in front of my computer secluded in the corner with the screen facing away from everyone, and browse internet and Youtube. I basically do the exact same thing I'd do at home but get paid six figures for going in.

That sounds awful. Our internal network was out Monday and I had to do that pretty much all day because I literally couldn't get any work done, and I was bored to shit after about 2 hours.

again, not in any way true. I guess Canada only makes Labatt and Molson. so, crap, low alcohol beer, right?

You simply aren't going to find a country anywhere else on this planet that offers a more diverse and complete selection of styles than what is made in the USA. If you average it all out by styles, I'd say you hit something like 6.4% on average--and plenty of Tripels and Barley Wines and the like that approach 13% and beyond.
I agree, but all of them stem from styles other countries established, such as belgian tripels.

Canada did it right with brews from Unibroue. Plus, when I go to a grocery store in the states the most I find I'd the shit that we have to offer. I have to go to a large liquor store or one of the few craft beer bars to find anything half decent.

Few craft beer bars? I've got 10+ a short walk from my house (three of those being breweries). If I get on the light-rail or car, I have an unbelievable selection. I realize Denver is not "normal" in the US, but the craft beer phenomenon has crept up everywhere.

Lemme guess: watching Summer Glau videos and images and posting rambling entreaties to her various fansites?

Yeah they are styles from everywhere else, but that's what makes the US so great--and actually unique, compared to all those everywhere else's. Our immigrants brought their beers with them and the fact is, many of them have been making them here for as long as the current breweries have been making them over there.

The US was a pretty amazing beer country prior to prohibition and the Depression (when AB decided to replace wheat and barley with rice...which they still do. Because they are horrible people), and only over the last ~2 decades now it has made serious efforts to reestablishing our past glory.

I work as a Controls Engineering contractor. I am self employed. After the company I worked for went out of business I was receiving calls within two hours of when we got notice.

I went to two interviews and both lowballed me with their offers. It took me a couple of days but I decided to give working for myself a shot. It took me about 3 months to land my first gig and it was a good one. For the past six years I have been very busy. I even have to turn away work because I am booked up.

Recently I started a two year contract at the GM plant in Bowling Green, KY. I have been told that if things go well I won't have to look for any more work. Things are going well.

EE working in physical design and CAD automation (flows, methodology, etc.)
for a decent-sized mixed-signal company in Dallas (hint : not TI)

Working with mixed-signal (rather than pure digital) designs can be ..... interesting.
Generally use older process nodes, but lots of odd implementation requirements.
Having to deal with a TON of processes (multiple fabs and/or flavors for each node)
is fun as well, since they have greatly differing DRC/DFM/DRV requirements / eccentricities.
