BattleToads was tough, but for a real BT challenge try beating it two player with both players surviving to the end. A friend and I could both beat it single player, but we could never do it together.

Prince of Persia for the SNES. The only game that has ever caused me to snap a controller in half out of sheer rage. The thing that frustrated me the most was the ridiculous jumping interface.

Anyone play Ninja Spirit on TG16?

The last level you had to jump down this big hole, and it had guys with sickles pointing upward. if you touch one, you die. There were HUNDREDS of these guys, but there was 1 exact place you had to jump down, and you had to jump STRAIGHT down (you could move back an forth in the air).

Anyone know what I'm talking about? Now that was one frustrating part in a video game.

WHAT?! :Q

As soon as you get dragon hands or stone feet (which you can in the first shopping district), the game is a cakewalk!

Thanks for reminding me what that game was called.
I remember having to press a proper combination of keys in order to advance in that game... and if you screwed up once you had to start over.. so frustrating, but good!

Certain parts of the FF games...like, say, in FFX where you have to dodge hundreds of lightning bolts in a row.

The original tabletop football game. The one with the giant trackball like Missile Command. I can't remember how many times one of us would get their hand pinched by that goddamn ball. >:

Most of these games shouldn't count. It should be just arcade games that you have to have another quarter or more (Dragon's Lair) to try again.

H2G2- that one was tough, my first experience with text adventures... it was hard to figure out what to do, esp as I hadn't read the book or heard the radio play or anything.

Lemmings - there was one level that had me stuck, on and off, for months. Then I finally got it and continued. It was relatively easy after that but I don't remember if I ever finished.

Sid Meier's Pirates (original) - my joystick was semi-broken midway through this game. Sailing from A to B therefore involved many quick trips to other letters of the alphabet as I zigzagged across the screen... Not the game's fault but ARGH!!!!

Can you tell I haven't done much gaming since I moved on from my Apple IIe?

Remember, this is the most FRUSTRATING, not the most difficult game.

I can beat the NES game in 15 minutes. I should do that this winter break and put up a clip.
