Oh, and I have to say that there has got to be better ways to sell cards at this point that is more fair to people. The two ideas I have had are the following:
1) A Nvidia and AMD master waiting list. Nvidia and AMD would implement a basic waiting list for being able to purchase their products. Once your name makes it to the top of the list, you are then given a voucher/token/something that you need to have in order to then make a purchase of that class of card (i.e. all retailers would need to check that you have a proper voucher and it enables that person to then buy one card of that class type from any of the various card/board manufacturers, or better still, you are able to tell Nvidia or AMD who you want to purchase it from and the voucher is good for that particular brand and Nvidia/AMD knows who to allocate their limited chips to fullfill your impending purchase). You are limited to 1 card and can only be on 1 list at a time. Once you have made it off the list, you can get back on the list for another purchase, but needing to wait your turn again.
2) The retailers all move to waiting lists. You are limited to 1 card, and can be on only one list at the retailer at a time. Just like the above, just at the retailer's level. In this case, due to the unknowns of which brand's cards will be received, the voucher is good for 1 month, but you can not get back on any list until you have used your voucher.
Again, no one i going to do this, but that would be the fairest solution to get cards out into the hands of actual gamers instead of them being purchased by scalpers, bots, and mining groups.
