Pretty soon crooks will break in to your house and steal those expensive video cards that everyone brags about online when they get one. I would imagine renters insurance would cover it though..
Problem is renters insurance covers the retail cost not the replacement cost.
When we rented ours was basically save the receipts for value and that value is based upon age. Like a chair has a 8 year life and it depreciates 12% every year.
Really the benefit of renters insurance is if there is a total loss like a fire.
I’d bet your retail value $1200 card would net you a bit more than $1000 and market price is currently $2500.
Edit: If I remember correctly if you didn’t have values they had set values, like $250 for a couch, $75 for desk, $500 clothing and so on.
Sort of remember the standard values being greater than what furniture we had.
Renters insurance is cheap, if you rent you should have it.
