Seriously considering a rwd car but have storage issues. I have a small one car garage with no basement. Where can I store a set of winter tires?

What do you guys do? If you can fit it in your garage/house. How do you store them?

I have a one car that's barely big enough for a mini, let alone storage for house stuff and a motorcycle.

That said, just stacked in the corner. Two sets actually.

I have overhead space in the carport. I put up some plywood and take them up a ladder and store them up there.

Why exactly are you considering RWD car?

You live in Phily, you should be able to use public transportation during snow storms (might be an option).

Discount Tire has offered to store my winter wheels/tires for 50 bucks a year and they will swap them over for me. But I have the room so I store them myself. I have nice totes from Tire Rack and use the cardboard circles from the many wheel/tire orders I've done to protect the inside/outside of the wheels.

I also have some heavy duty wheel hangers in the garage for additional wheels. For those I have to remove the center caps and slide the wheels on.

To clarify, i live in the philly burbs. it's not even remotely possible that i could ever take public transportation to where i work. Taking my wife's car is an option when it snows because she can easily work from home, but its not something I want to do all the time.

considering both the RWD and AWD versions of the Lexus IS350 FSport. Not many available on the used market with all of the features I want right now, but there is a fully loaded RWD one in the color i want about 200 miles away from me.

I have a small one car myself, I line them up along the wall standing upright. I have considered some hooks to hang them flat against the wall though.

One car garage as well. Some 2 x 4's and made a tire rack mounted on the back right side corner of the garage, or would that be the front...:\

My winter tires also serve as my summer tires and vice versa so I just store them on the car.

I store mine in a pile on the side of the garage.

The RWD Lexus IS350 FSport is the way to go. It comes with the newer 8 speed auto. The AWD comes with an older 6 speed auto.

AWD apparently is a few tenths of a second faster due to more traction. the 8 spd auto and VGRS options are what i really want. and better fuel economy is a plus too. I can honestly go either way though. if one pops up closer to me that happens to have everything and AWD i would probably consider it too. i friggin love this car either way. I have a feeling they will finally be updating their engine in the MMC though

Could you store them outside? You could get a long chain to thread through all of them with a padlock so they they wont get stolen (easily).

Discount Tire has my winter tires and wheels. A bargain for swap and storage at $50 per season.

I'm still looking for a place nice and cheap where I live. I would love to have someone else change my tires for me.
