While I'm relieved nobody else was hurt/killed, I think it's a tragic that this kid felt so depressed or upset that he felt the need to take his own life.

Stole them (parents or others), illegal hookup, someone else stole them from his parents and gave them to him, etc. No way a kid is getting guns from any legal channel.

Alot of people are non gun people who inherit guns from relatives, and they sit in an attic rotting in storage, and they forget they have them and would never know they were missing. Because they aren't active enthusiasts, they don't consider themselves gun owners and have no guns of their own, they just have forgotten guns tucked away in a shoebox with grandpa's stamp collection until their nosy deranged 15 yr old comes across it.

It's pretty sad how many people don't even know they have guns in the house.

We had access to all kinds of hunting rifles and hand guns when I was growing up back in the 60's and 70's. Of course, we were uneducated country folk, unlike the OP .
