As long as the fingerprint reader is on the back it's no for me. Will keep S7 another while longer it seems.

S8 wasn't much of an upgrade for me.... S9, is looking promising! Yeah, I'm also hoping they move the finger reader back to the front, hopefully under the glass some place.

I don't think that that is happening yet.

If the S9 has a removable battery... I may just get it!
That is highly HIGHLY unlikely. Sealed phones allow engineers much easier ability to attain IP67/68 rating, as well as allowing a larger battery in the same size device vs an identical sized device with a removable battery.

That coupled with wireless fast charging and Quick Charge and the fact phone batteries tend to last all day these days even with heavy use. I just don't see Samsung going back to a removable battery design.

It may or may not be time for me to upgrade. I'm still rocking the iPhone 6 but I was really impressed with the specs on the S8, so maybe the S9 will be the one for me. I'm not heavily invested in the iOS ecosystem, so thank the gods for that.

Would rather stick my finger in my eye than use a Samsung device, where they all look the same, have the same bloated UI and poor physical layout.

I've been looking at the OnePlus lineup or even a Google phone if their next iteration actually impresses me.

Edit: Why are iPhones so bloody expensive??

They all look the same? Well yea the same line of phones for one company is going to look similar. I still think the S8 is an awesome looking phone.

Upgraded from Nexus 6P to S8+ last summer. Wished the 6P would've lasted two years, but ran into battery issues (seems like every 6P is affected)...Hoping the S8+ can actually last two+ years before upgrading. I'll upgrade to the S10/S11

I prefer my phones not to explode. I'm ok if they slow down tho, as long as it saves battery life.

makes more sense on the back. why the front?

I work with my phone all day and use the stand-up wireless fast charger as my desk stand. Having the reader on the front means I just have to touch it to unlock & use it. I don't have to pick it up to unlock & use it every time and keep alternating between charging and not charging.

Wireless charging & fingerprint reader on the back, which is busy charging, just doesn't make sense IMO.

When you are at work all day why don't you use smart lock or trusted places or whatever it is your version of android has to keep the phone unlocked there?
