That's an augmented reality app, not live photos. They're not going to look as good as the real thing.

This is problematic, to say the least. Interestingly the MT scores are not too far apart - low MT scores usually mean that a chip is thermally constrained, but who knows there was a calibration of sort to achieve parity? If what I think is going to happen happens, I will wait for the Note 9.

I will take much better Exynos ST over SD845 any day of the week even when MT is similar. Actually there isn't a choice for me to begin with if I dont parallel import the SD845 version.

SD845 will win big in GPU perf/W but I reckon the real world impact wont be as significant as the massive ST boost of Exynos.

Is it designed to tempt people with an S8? The hype is starting to tempt me and I'm on an S7E which is, I guess, their target audience.

S9+ w/ 6 GB of RAM. Kinda crazy. With more numbers uploaded on GB browser in recent days, the chip looks real day by day.

Just went with the S8+ -- Wouldn't mind the dual camera on the S9+ but I just don't use my phone enough for that to be worth it and performance wise... the s7 I have has been fine.

S8+ with free Gear IconX was $275 after $350 credit for my 18 month old S7 and EPP discount through the Samsung app.

phone will have all the same issues the 8 had in terms of it being as strong as an egg, its also still a samsung

What's with the huge forehead and chin on this? You'd think after showing the iPhone X Samsung would be pushing the screen to the very top and bottom the way Apple has, especially as it's Samsung who make the screens! The iPhone X looks so much better than this.

Looks like a nice upgrade for those on older Galaxy/Note devices, or those still wanting a modern flagship with microSD expansion and headphone jack. I'm happy with my S8+.

While the X is certainly an improvement over previous iPhone designs, it still has a noticeable bezel that goes all the way around the phone. And yeah, the notch is ugly too.

I've always said that Samsung's hardware has been beautiful since the S6. The only problem Samsung has is their continued use of Android instead of a better OS. Now the iPhone X is here, Apple once again has the best OS AND the best design. Samsung need to up their game to regain the best design and they have yet to fix their OS problems.

Funny really because, yes, the design of the S9 is great but its the OS that keeps me on Samsung.
Stuff like Secure Folder plus the overall flexibility of Android makes it hard to find a viable alternative.

I do wish Samsung was able to go further in increasing the screen to body ratio and get it into the upper 80s while keeping the camera at the top.

However comparing bezels with the X seems pointless as the S9 does have a slightly higher ratio - it's basically do you want the bezels consolidated at the top and bottom or all around plus a notch.

I'm guessing upper 80s without ux compromises won't happen until the S10.

There is the Vivo Apex just announced that is claiming 98% StB, but besides that the S9 @ ~84% is right up around the top at the moment.

I can't imagine anything having a StB ratio >10% higher than anything out at the moment and not having its screen fall off!

For me it's that the front camera needs to stay at the top no matter what. But it feels very possible to shrink the S9 bezels by at least 1/3 if not more.

But they're sticking to the tick tock starting with the S6. Not really the same as Apple using the same design for 3 years plus.

I fully expect the S10 to have significantly smaller bezels plus in screen fingerprint as the headline redesign while mostly carrying over the camera.
