Even some medium size ones, if they're the right shape.
See how the pointy end is down? That keeps it from displacing too much of the water.
Ahhh. So does a female float only if they have their pointy elbows down?

you should buy me a beer just for reading your posts.

We need one of those "two posts a day" or permanent "post all of your crap in one thread" rules for this guy. I feel dumber just visiting this forum and reading the thread titles these days.

Cement boats float also

I used to work with a couple of guys who owned a concrete-hull commercial fishing boat. I went fishing with them a few times out of Half Moon Bay. Fucking hull was as round as a ball...made for an interesting ride in rough seas...

I don't normally get sea-sick...but on that thing...I turned green a couple of times. (never did chum...but got close)

Water is indeed heavy. A mere litre of water is 2.2lbs. So when I go backpacking I prefer if the trail has known water sources to filter. Instead of topping off my kit at a full 3 litres at 6.6lbs would go with 1.5 litres at 3.3lbs. Saving 3lbs of weight when you are backpacking is huge.

Surface tension. It takes a ton of pressure to shove a battleship-sized pocket of air beneath the surface. I tried it once.

Wrong assumption. The ocean weighs waaaay more than the ship and that is why it floats. To the ocean a ship like an aircraft carrier is a feather to the ocean.

So... a ball of lead should float _really_ well on an ocean that weighs many millions of times more than the ball.

When air over the top of the wing moves faster than the air moving around the bottom of the wing, you get flight.
That is incorrect.

He is 100% correct. The reason why there is a pressure difference is a whole different story. The trick is producing large amounts of lift with low drag. I am an aerodynamicist and I guarantee you've flown on airplanes I've helped design.

Boats, on the other hand, still need helium or mermaids.

A: I dunno but when you find the answer let me know. I got one that refuses to flush. Damn bananas.
