Holy shit I forgot anyone still used the Gnex (you also have my condolences). Everything I've heard about the new Nexus is saying October/November which seems about on par with the Nexus 4/5 releases. There's nothing wrong with the Nexus 5 and you can probably pick one up for pretty cheap now. Snapdragon 800, 2gb of RAM and a 1080p screen is still pretty standard.
My god lol. When I went from my Galaxy Nexus to an iPhone 5s it blew my mind that I could last the day on a single charge.
I really didn't have a problem lasting a single day on the Galaxy Nexus. Granted I was using GSM model rather than LTE CDMA. I had a spare battery for days when I needed more juice. My iPhone 5s lasts longer but not longer than GNex with one spare battery. I would have no problem going back to GNex after using iPhone 5s.

For T-Mobile/AT&T/Sprint? Probably. For Verizon? Hell no.
Unless Google does something radically different the nexus 6 will be factory unlocked and will work just fine on metro. I had my nexus 5 on metro for a good while before we switched to T-Mobile, it worked great.I'm hoping to use it on metro since their coverage is good where I work and live.
My Galaxy Nexus is on its last legs. It's been a year since the N5 came out. Any word on the N6?
So I'm a bit skeptical about Motorola.
The new Moto X's camera is still meh, so how do we expect the Nexus 6 to be that good? At least with LG we saw the G2 and G3 have a pretty good camera. The Nexus was just intentionally gimped. So at best we could be getting a Moto X camera. At worst it will be a gimped Moto X camera. Not impressive.
Battery life has never been a strongpoint for Nexus phones, but maybe L will make things better. Even the Moto X wasn't THAT great. So we'll see.
After seeing the iOS 8 features and the iPhone 6 launch, I don't think any Nexus based on what we've heard is very revolutionary at this point. I think the biggest update we can expect is the L update.
I really don't know about 5.9" either personally. I know I said the same thing before going to a 5.5" OPO, but there's only so much bigger you can go.
Nothing. But perhaps he means that innovation is done. After all, the last really influential device was the Note 2.And what the hell was so revolutionary about the Iphone 6 or iOS 8?

People at work are suprised I buy my phones out right and say I would be better off spending the extra money on more data and getting a subsidized phone.

Im in the same boat, but not very confident it will come to Verizon. Getting a i6 or motox, probably motox due to cost and availability. Its about as stock of a phone as you can get right now outside the nexus line, and at least the moto is usable everywhere.
I just need a new Phone. People at work are suprised I buy my phones out right and say I would be better off spending the extra money on more data and getting a subsidized phone. I just don't like contracts and I like the ability to switch when I can and sell the old phone.
I'm on unlimited now on Verizon but they started throttling in my area since I'm in a high traffic area both at work and at home so I'm planning to leave them. At least with the $60 metro plan they don't throttle and I'm lucky they have good coverage where I'm located. Sure beats paying $90 a month for one phone and then $45 for my sister since she's on metro. I can save some money by getting on that plan too.
The note 4 is pretty much the newest in terms of tech right now so far. I just hate touchwiz and rooting or unlocking in the note phones takes time.
Hopefully Google or Motorola announces something next month.
