I've since dropped them to 30/40. Temp has dropped again, CPU blue line dropped again, and I've seen no functional difference in what I do.

VMware Workstation is now free; if necessary you could run Win7 in a VM.^^^ Doesn't work. Oh well.
Powershell doesn't seem to work either.
I have an older device that I can only log in to in IE 11. None of the other browsers work, including Edge.
I can't seem to find a version of IE 11 to load on Win 11.

Yes. But you have to install Windows 7 or 8 inside the VM with a bootable ISO file. Then just work inside the VM or maximize it to full screen when you need it. Just be sure to get the ISO from some reputable site. Otherwise, you can burn your own by popping in the Windows 7 DVD and saving it as ISO with https://www.isodisk.com/Will this VM thing allow me to install it?

"BingSearchEnabled"=dword:00000000That's the wrong spot. The location is in HKEY_Current_User not local machine.
It helps if you look in the right place HKCU not HKLM.
Then you probably have to create one. Right click on the right side and click New > Dword (32). Then use the text in the quotes to create the key name and put the value at 0.
By most accounts it was 8x that was terrible. I personally think it had shortcomings but at least Microsoft hadn't fully embraced YOLO OS development during 8x's era.I just unpinned the Search Box from the Task Bar.

Win10 IS 9. They just can't call it 9 because a lot of software was hardcoded to associate Windows and 9 with the old Windows 9x family (95, 98 etc.) so they decided to skip 9 to avoid breaking compatibility of legacy software.Whatever happened to 9?
