Got mine yesterday. It's my first smartphone, so I'm still just getting used to the idea of swiping at things to make actions happen. I'll load up some apps this weekend, get things more customized and go from there. But I have to say, the idea that I can have a device that is more powerful than a computer I ran a decade ago that fits comfortably in my pocket for less than $200 is mind-boggling. The screen is good, it plays games, it's reasonably easy to navigate in even for a complete phone n00b like myself, it has hilariously incorrect predictive text... what more could you ask for? I'm hugely impressed.
Funny. I'm in the same boat as you. Been a huge computer home-hobbyist gamer since @ 1992. This will soon be my first foray into the smartphone world. Honestly, I can't believe how expensive the smartphone pay plans are. This is why I believe I'm going to start with the T-Mobile/Walmart prepaid plan with the Samsung S3.
Wonder which unlocked version I should get, the T-Mobile or the International...
Oh, BTW, noob question here, does the S3 have free Wi-Fi calling?
