any jellybean port to the S3 right now is not official. AFAIK nobody has started development officially on it, they're focusing on the nexus. Not to mention verizon's bootloader is locked and you can't install AOSP without their binaries.

Every s3 has official CM team members working on it.any jellybean port to the S3 right now is not official. AFAIK nobody has started development officially on it, they're focusing on the nexus. Not to mention verizon's bootloader is locked and you can't install AOSP without their binaries.
Because the CM doesnt have the AOSP code and haven't been publically announcing CM10 releases for the GS3.
Wait a minute, they have been doing this.
Where's the AOSP code for verizon?

I'm following the verizon development more closely because that's the carrier I'm on, and as far as I know there's no roms at all on it other than stripped stock roms thanks to the locked bootloader.
edit: AFAIK verizon's version requires tinkering with kexec, correct me if I'm wrong?
You're not paying attention at all then. How exactly do you think that the Droid X, which has about 40x more security, has dozens of Custom Roms?
If you've been paying attention, you would know that Cm9 currently boots successfully on the GS3 and the only issue right now is a data issue that they are working on. You can download and use CM9 RIGHT NOW and load a custom overclock kernel if you want to.
No I haven't, since I'm not checking the xda forums on a daily basis. I am well aware of the kexec kernel bypass and that the CWM team put in a bootsequence for a custom kernel, but wasn't aware they already had a jellybean rom for the verzion phones up and running. This was the last article that said anything about a verzion CM, which happened on MONDAY.

But thanks for being a jackass without linking any sources, you're the most helpful kind of poster on every forum .
You claim to be following development news, and yet you obviously aren't.
Agreed. I don't "get" the stock Samsung keyboard at all. I installed the stock ICS keyboard which I'm fine with.I love everything about mine except the t9 swype that comes with it, I installed the Swype beta keyboard and now its the perfect device for me.

I'll have to get normal Swype installed for my wife as that's what she prefers.
Is there a photograph somewhere on the web that shows this pentile "problem" people keep talking about?
Thanks. I was using the beta when I started using CM7 on my Galaxy S. When I started running an AOSP ICS Rom I stuck with the stock keyboard and grew to like it.The Swype beta is super amazing, I suggest checking it out. It is literally the best keyboard I have used.
Install Kies, it has the drivers.
I think I've been able to squash the wifi notification with very little effort.
There's two settings right in WiFi; one says "Notify me when launching high data useage apps.....notify me when available". Under the advanced area there's "auto connect when launching.....when Wi-Fi is off."
Unchecking both of these has eliminated the notification for me anyway. I've rooted the phone but its otherwise unaltered as far as this issue is concerned.
This is why I'm going to use wifi as infrequently as possible. I'm paying for unlimited data for a reason!
