Holding finger and thumb apart to indicate 2G, Maxwell Smart would say, "nefariouscaine missed 1T by that much!"

Thanks for the stats, TallBill!

Hehe, nefariouscaine is doing very well. I guess, if he wanders on like this we have to send him to the DC-Addiction clinic to let him find his marbles again. We've all been there, so we now how nice it is there. Free stats and lots of "partners in misfortune" .

The MM'ers for the 22nd will be posted when the day is over in The Netherlands.

Thx for the stats as always, TallBill.

Doesn't SoB support checkpoints? I'am new to SoB and restarted my computer yesterday, now it started from the beginning... over 9 or 10 hours of work lost!

Normally it saves work. If you installed SOB as a service but didn't reboot afterwards then it'll lose the work the first time you do reboot.

Chances are now you're working on a new test after your reboot? Let me hunt down the instructions. This just came up the other day.

edit- here it is... fix for lost tests
The instructions are very easy to follow. I know i had you do this before & it was easy to fix & you should pick right back up where you left off.

TallBill, would you add this link to the heading of your stats threads & maybe make a note somewhere for newcomers to reboot after installing SOB as a service.

BAH!!!

I guess I got that 2.8 P4 up far too late into the day to get me over the top :clock:

I get to work today and have 4 more cpu's I can put on it at least part time but full time for the long holiday weekend

I tried explaining DC to a friend of mine as I set up a cpu I built for them and she just didn't get it - but I know I got it and bad

I started getting the bug from DPAD but didn't put nearly this much power into it. Seems SoB doesn't effect my gaming ATM either so its 24/7 on my main rig.

I just added a couple of more low end P4's so I think I might be getting my 1T for today - ditto on Free-DC stepping it up too. I think we might have another prime by years end

*edit*

the extra juice I added on really helped me hit my 1T goal pretty "early" in the day - w00t!

Congrats to all the MMs

TallBill, after reading a few threads on the SOB forums, you might want to put a note beside the "Install as a service, multiple threads" link that it's for Windows XP only. And apparently that fix for lost tests is for XP only too.
Sounds like setting SOB to run as a service on Vista isn't as easy as on XP.

Are we back to running 1st pass tests now?

edit - here's a couple of threads on the joys of installing as a service on Vista:

sorry for my noob questions;

Is it normal to see fluctuations in speed within a WU?
I had an average of 3.33 M cEMs/sec during the first 80 (or so) blocks, now I only have an avergae of 2.25 M cEM/s.

Sorry, Don't have the answer for you there, Philippart. Will push this thread to the top, so someone else may give you an answer.

I did find a nice quote in this thread on the DPC forum:

Ze gaan bij freedc en anandtech wel heel erg hard nu. Wat hebben ze op de kop getikt, een supercomputer of zo?

Translated it says:

At FreeDC and Anandtech they are going very fast right now. What did they find, a supercomputer or something like that?
