I know my production has slowed down significantly with the double-checks. I guess that's why the FreeDC overtake is now slowing down, everyone is crunching slower. Maybe they buffered more of the older non-doublecheck work blocks, so they're surging ahead again?

I should have a couple more C2D machines online, after I get them built. Hopefully that should more than triple my SoB output.

Btw, does anyone know how much L2 cache affects SoB calculations? I have a friend with an Athlon 64 3000+ @ 2.4Ghz, I want to upgrade his machine to dual-core, if he will let me run SoB on it, but NewEgg sold out of the X2 3800+ chips (512KB L2 x 2), and instead they have the X2 3600+ (256KB L2 x 2). Will the cut down 256KB L2 cripple SoB scores, or will they be largely unchanged?

Also, the C2D rigs will have E2140 CPUs (hopefully at 3.2Ghz), I'm wondering if they will be faster or slower than my E4400 (at 2.8Ghz), considering the L2 cache size difference. (Only 1MB L2 on the E2140, 2M L2 on the E4400.)

No idea larry. The 4200+'s are like $65 though. I just bought one myself and will be testing it out within a week.

The X2 3800+ Toledo are back in stock, so I ordered one of those. I also got one of my C2D machines built the other night, stress-testing now. Having some wierdness overclocking, had Prime95 running along happily, but then the entire system restarted. It's happened several times. I upped the voltage, and now the CPU is cooking, but it hasn't restarted today.
