You may feel that way, but not everyone does. I respect the right of every country to choose its own favorite sport. I won't attempt to speak for anyone but myself.

Instead of just screaming, the fans actually sing songs. You can't understand it unless you goto a major club or international game but the who stadium just swells up with emotion as the fans sing to lift up their team.

American college football games the home crowds sing their college fight songs. The home crowds scream so loud that the visiting teams have trouble hearing each other while on offense.

Go and watch a Michigan vs. Ohio State and see how the atmosphere is.

Because it's popular in 90% of countries, and I'd it is the *most* popular in more than 75% of countries. I don't have the figures but you can start off with the whole of Africa and Europe, most of Asia, Russia, etc...

There are tennis players from all different countries, but I don't hear that being pushed as a "world sport". What about swimming?

Not actual team sports though are they...

Canada is big into Hockey, Puerto Rico is big into Baseball. India and Australia like cricket. Are they being "rude" for not adopting soccer as the most popular sport?

The Australians also like rugby, as do the New Zealanders, but I think that about covers it for non-soccer-playing nations. Not many.

Stop trying to push your likes on everyone else.

This thread is about which sport is better, isn't the whole point to to push your own view? You know, like in one of those 'argument' things...

I think there is very little chance of the rest of the world picking up American football, but there's a much bigger hope for the US getting interested in soccer.
