Likewise, since they would not themselves be exempt from their own proposed changed to law, accusing them of hypocrisy is off base.

Nah, for those of us who practice thinking on a regular basis following straightforward and obvious logic like this is easy, every day stuff. I know to the mentally lazy this looks really hard and all, but if you tried thinking you might find it very helpful and rewarding.
